Dancing at the Diddy: Wednesday 12 September, 7:30pm – 11:00pm. The Longueville Sporting Club aka ‘The Diddy’. If you over 55, enjoy dancing or are nostalgic for the music of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, then why not join in this special night out. Pay $10 at the door and enjoy live music and the dance floor. Drinks and meals are available from the club at your own expense. No need to book, just turn up.
Threatened Species Day Guided Walk: Friday 7 September, 9:30am – 11:00am. Enjoy an easy guided walk and see how the endangered Sydney Turpentine-Ironbark Forest is being restored at Hands Quarry Reserve. Stringybark Creek: Walk and Weed: Sunday 16 September, 9:00am – 12:00pm. Take a guided walk along the shady creekline then help restore this peaceful reserve by pulling out problematic weeds found here. Woodford Bay: Habitat Walk & Bushcare: Sunday 16 September, 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Take a closer look at habitat with ecologist Narawan Williams on a short foreshore walk then help restore wildlife habitat by pulling out problematic weeds found at Woodford Bay. Afternoon tea provided. Book Launch: Natural Environment of Lane Cove: Wednesday 19 September, 6:30pm - 8:00pm, Lane Cove Library. Celebrate a book which highlights all that makes Lane Cove special to the community: its bushland and wildlife, Aboriginal culture and European history and so much more. RSVP essential. Community Nursery Open Day: Friday 21 September, 10:00am – 2:00pm Entry via Lloyd Rees Drive, Lane Cove West. Try your hand at propagation or be guided around the nursery and gardens by one of our volunteers. Take home a free native seedling for your garden! Drawing in Nature: Saturday 22 September, 9:00am - 12:00pm Art meets nature in a delightful spring-time exploration of the bush landscape with well-known Sydney artist and bush regenerator Patrick Shirvington. Express your creativity and wonder by drawing in the outdoors, all skill levels welcome! Penrose Street: Meditate on Nature: Wednesday 26 September, 9:30am – 12:00pm. Enjoy an outdoor nature meditation session near the Lane Cove River, perfect to rejuvenate the spirit! Then give back to nature with a Bushcare session, no experience needed.

Moove & Groove: Free Silent disco for Seniors: Every Wednesday, 5- 26 September, 10:30am - 11:30am, Living and Learning Centre. Join us for a series of exciting guided dance routine classes which have been specially designed for people with dementia and their carers. Wearing wireless headphones you can move and groove to the specifically selected music track. The dance class runs for 30 minutes and light refreshments will be available.
