I am h lage Family Service Center's 2024 Annual Report, reflecting on our on esilience, and impact. This past year, we have continued to evolve in response to our community's changing needs while working to help people heal, grow, and thrive.
At The Village, we are committed to removing barriers to care Last year, we expanded our mental health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to include a virtual option, making this essential service more accessible for those seeking help. We also continue to invest in evidence-based therapy models, ensuring our clinicians are equipped with the most effective tools and techniques to support clients on their healing journey.
In 2023, we made the decision to sell our 1201 25th St S , Fargo building, and it officially sold in 2024. This decision allowed us to increase efficiencies with donor dollars and reallocate resources to our headquarters located at 2701 12th Ave. S., Fargo.
The Village Board of Directors, along with Senior Leadership and I, have established a foundation for the future through strategic pillars. These pillars focus on expanding innovative, specialized services, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth, and strengthening community partnerships. They guide our decision-making, support organizational resilience, and enhance our ability to meet the complex needs of those we serve.
At our core, The Village exists to provide a safe space for healing and transformation. Whether someone is struggling with mental health, addiction, grief, or relationship challenges, we are here to walk with them toward a stronger tomorrow
Thank you for being part of our journey.

At our 2024 Wine & Dine event, a brave client shared her journey about trauma, healing, and transformation
On the surface, her life looked picture-perfect. She had just graduated at the top of her class, landed a high-profile job, was training for a marathon, and owned a beautiful home. But beneath the polished exterior, she was crumbling. A call from her mother revealing a cancer diagnosis triggered a wave of unresolved childhood trauma memories she had buried long ago
When she was 12, she witnessed her mother suffer a life-threatening seizure. Though her mom recovered, she never truly did. The experience left her fearful and hyper-independent, determined to protect herself by seeking perfection and avoiding emotional vulnerability
Years later, therapy at The Village helped her finally name what she had experienced With the compassionate guidance of her therapist, she began to connect the dots between her past and her present struggles. She also engaged in EMDR therapy, which helped her process trauma too painful to put into words.
Through that work, she came to understand that much of her life had been built on fear, not authenticity But healing allowed her to start showing up for her life in a new way—with both feet in the present.
"I will never be able to go back and save my mom from what happened to
her," she shared.
"But because I had a consistent and caring therapist walk with me through that pain, I was able to go back and save me—and that’s what heals."
