The Teen Wellness Retreat is a unique event aimed at promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being among teens in our community Our goal is to provide you with a supportive and inclusive environment to learn valuable skills and engage in meaningful discussions about personal growth and self-care. This year, the Teen Wellness Retreat features 3 workshop sessions, self-care activities, a comedy show, a resource fair, lunch, giveaways, and more
Think of it as a day to reboot thoughtful conversations, delicious food and snacks, and activities and workshops designed to de-stress, refresh, and build confidence

This presentation will define depression and anxiety, and how these conditions are typically expressed in teenagers We will be reviewing common misconceptions, associated stigmatization, and will present information that supports depression and anxiety symptoms as typical parts of teenage development Attention will be given to identifying common environmental triggers, as well as introducing practical evidencebased coping strategies that have been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression in this population

When we don’t feel well mentally, we don’t feel well physically The opposite is also true: when we don’t feel well physically, we don’t feel well mentally Exercise and flexibility are important to physical health, and so is fueling your body with premium fuels! This nutrition workshop trains attendees to evaluate nutrition labels so they can make good food decisions without sacrificing flavor The workshop will also provide attendees some basic training on how to track some early indicators of future health problems which remain hidden for years

Push your limits, boost confidence, break social norms, and express your emotions in this fun, cathartic session Participants will self-reflect to identify what is stressing them out, what mental health struggles they’ve been having, or any trauma they’ve been working through On a ceramic plate, teens will write down what they want to let go of, then smash the plate!

The bay area ’ s funniest stand up comedians tell jokes and talk about their life with mental illness. All in the jovial environment of a late night talk show. Also featuring an interview with a mental health professional! Hosted by Kristee Ono.

A healthy lunch will be served, free of charge. Attendees will receive a slice of pizza from Pizza My Heart For dessert, Crumbl Cookies will be served
Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options available! Healthy snacks and drinks will also be offered free of charge throughout the day
Visit the Resource Fair to learn all about what it means to take care of your mental health There will be representatives from local organizations and outside services who can help answer any questions and provide resources and giveaways
Pets, hugs, and cuddles from furry friends! Furry Friends Pet Assisted Therapy Services will be on site with dogs who will help provide stress relief
2:05-2:30 p.m.
After the final workshop session, you will be treated to a Boba drink! Choose from three different flavors Milk and non-milk and caffeine and non-caffeine options will be available.
Each teen will leave the event with a swag bag containing mental health giveaways, goodies, and items from our partners! You don't want to miss this.
Upon check-in, you will receive a raffle ticket for a variety of prizes including but not limited to LEGO® set, a Sailing Charter with Adventure Cat, a year-long subscription to Headspace, and Beats Studio Buds There will be the opportunity to earn additional raffle tickets throughout the day

Yes, due to demand and to get the most out of the day, we require participants to be able to attend the event in it's entirety Due to safety, there will be no come-and-go privileges
What do I need to bring into the event?
Just bring yourself and an open mind! Everything that you need will be provided Please leave distractors at home - take advantage of the opportunity to unplug!
Is it really free?
Yes! The event is free and all-inclusive. You'll be served a healthy lunch from Pizza My Heart, be treated to Crumbl Cookie and Tea Cub Boba, and we'll even send you home with a swag bag!
