West Point Football Game

Featuring Tailgating at the First Class Club

New

Now is your chance to witness the pageantry, history and patriotism of a football game at West Point! Start your day on “The Plain” where you will watch one of the time-honored traditions of game day at West Point – the Cadet Review – a full-dress parade (weather permitting). Next you’ll head inside the First Class Club for a special Army Football Community Tailgate. The First Class Club was originally an armory built in the mid 1800’s when West Point was a fort, so you’ll want to take the time to walk around and read the plaques that adorn the club. There are a number of military artifacts surrounding the club that were used in battle like old iron cannons from the revolutionary era. Inside, you’ll enjoy a catered buffet meal served in the Club’s sports bar atmosphere as you mingle with your friends and fellow Army Football fans. After time to relax and enjoy your pre-game feast, you’ll board a shuttle and be whisked away to Michie Stadium for today’s noon kick off. You’ll clap along as the West Point Band takes the field, followed by the Cadet Regiment marching on to the field. Once the 1,000 Cadets are in position on the field, a member of the Cadet Glee Club and the Army Band perform the National Anthem. Next a perennial fan favorite – the Parachute Demonstration – you’ll look skyward to see West Point cadets jump from a helicopter and land on the field as they parachute in the official game ball and flags just before kickoff. Finally, the Army Black Knights are led out of the tunnel by the Army Rabble Rousers, mascots, and the American flag. Finally, you’ll relax in your reserved seats and watch your Army Black Knights take on Western Kentucky in their final home game of the season. Great food, marching bands, glee clubs, parachutes, and a West Point Football game…what an event. This is an experience that everyone should do at least once.

There is nothing like being at Michie Stadium on the banks of the Hudson River “when the cadets sing ‘On Brave Old Army Team’ That is an unbelievable moment!
