Dear Upper Class Family, At Thanksgiving, our family shares what we are thankful for. It was a tradition started by our grandmother and is continued each year. GENERAL INFORMATION

One-Day Tours: For one-day tours, full payment is due within seven days of making a reservation. If a guest elects to purchase Travel Insurance, the insurance cost is due within seven days of making a reservation.

Prices are per person, per trip and include all round trip transportation, accommodations, meals, entertainment, admissions, tour escorts, guides, taxes and gratuities as per the unique itinerary of each trip, unless otherwise stated.

Multiple-Day Tours: For multiple-day tours, a 20% per person deposit is due within seven days of making a reservation. Balance is then due 90 days prior to departure. If a guest elects to purchase Travel Insurance, the insurance cost is due within seven days of making a reservation.

It is the travelers’ responsibility to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to designated departure times. Any guest not arriving in time for departure may be left behind. The Upper Class, LLC assumes no responsibility for guests arriving late at departure points at any location.

Payments may be made by MasterCard, Visa, or by sending a check or money order. All rates are guaranteed upon payment or deposit.

Important Reservation Information MEDICAL CANCELLATION INSURANCE PROTECTION If a guest is unable to travel due to illness or other health issues, The Upper Class Medical Cancellation Insurance program provides a refund for the cost of any trip, minus the price of the insurance. The refund will be made upon receipt of a doctor’s note. The note must state that, based on an office visit, the guest was not able to travel. The note must be signed by the doctor and dated on or before the trip’s departure date. Insurance is available for purchase within seven days of making your reservation. Insurance claims must be received within 14 days after the departure date of the tour. Insurance is available for cancellations due to medical reasons only. Once purchased, insurance is non-refundable and non-transferable. The Insurance fee does not cover any changes in tour prices which arise from an individual’s traveling companion electing to cancel prior to departure. In this case, the price difference will be deducted from the refund of the person who cancels. Division of these charges between the passengers involved is solely their responsibility.

We don’t want any of our guests to feel uncomfortable when traveling to our departure locations due to inclement winter weather. For your peace of mind, we are happy to offer you an option to protect your vacation with our Winter Weather Insurance Program. The Winter Weather Insurance Program allows our guests to cancel a tour for a full credit toward future travel if snowfall of more than 2” inches occurs within 12 hours prior to your tour’s departure. Snowfall is measured by the National Weather Service officially published snowfall for White Plains, NY. The Winter Weather Insurance Program is available on tours during the months of December through March and is designated by the Winter Weather Insurance Program icon on each individual trip. Winter Weather Insurance for an additional $15 on trips under $100, or 15% of the trip price on trips of $100 or more and must be purchased within seven days of making your reservation, but not less than 30 days or more prior to travel.

Day 5: Jefferson’s Monticello (B, L) This morning we’re off to Monticello for an intimate look into the life and times of Thomas Jefferson and the extraordinary house he built and furnished for himself and his family. See the furnishings, art, books, gadgets and other objects that reveal Jefferson’s unique mind during a guided tour. After the tour, visit the restored wine cellar, kitchen, smokehouse, slave quarters and revolutionary Vegetable Garden, a 1,000-foot-long terraced hanging garden with seasonal vegetables planted throughout the year. For lunch, experience Michie Tavern and take an historical journey to discover 18th-century tavern life. Your guided tour reveals secrets to a traveler’s revelry and woes through interpretations on drinking, gaming, dining, sleeping and entertainment. Afterwards, you’ll get a taste of the 18th century as you dine on wonderful southern cuisine.

ADD TO YOUR FUN! Join your friends for an optional tour and dinner at nearby Montpelier, former home to President James Madison, Father of the Constitution and Architect of the Bill of Rights, and Dolley Madison, America’s first “First Lady.” It was here at Montpelier where James Madison shaped the ideas that would become the U.S. Constitution.
