The member may be referred to the House Rules Committee for review and possible sanction. Some rules may be suspended by management or the Board to accommodate special occasions or events. League management is authorized to remove any member or guest from club premises or activities for conduct which, in its judgment, is detrimental to the welfare of the League. House Rules are updated periodically, and members are responsible for being aware of all current rules.

GOLF POLICIES
CADDIES
The use of a caddie is encouraged to help maintain an appropriate pace of play and to improve the quality and quantity of caddies at Union League golf facilities. Beginning May 1, 2025 through September 1, 2025, the use of caddies are REQUIRED (when available) during the following times listed below:
Torresdale: Thursday: Noon to 2:00pm | Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 to 11:00am | Tuesday to Sunday (April 1 to October 31): Cart or caddie required prior to 2:00pm
National: Friday through Sunday and Holiday Periods: 7:00 to 1:00pm

• All unaccompanied guests must take a caddie when available, regardless of the time of day.
• Dependents of members under age 21 are not required to take a caddie.
GOLF CARTS
Any person driving a cart must possess a valid driver’s license. For safety reasons, no more than two people may ride in a cart at one time, and no one may ride on the back of a cart including caddies and staff members. Before taking a golf cart to the Practice Facility, you must check in with a member of the golf staff. The cart fee per player for 18-holes is $35. The 9-hole fee is $17.50.
LIGHTNING ACTION PLAN
Our Lightning Warning System monitors the hazard level of possible lightning strikes in the immediate area of our facility. Please note that when the siren sounds it is mandatory that all members, guests, caddies and employees evacuate the golf courses immediately and seek shelter within the Clubhouse or at the nearest point of shelter on property. The golf cart screens will also notify you when play has been suspended. Please refer to the carts when in doubt of procedure.
HANDICAPS (When to Post a Score)
Rounds played at the Union League, or any other course observing its Active Season, must be posted as soon as possible. If you played a round between the previous November 15 and March 31 on another course which was observing an Active Season (down South or out West), this score must be posted as soon as possible to be reflected in your current Handicap Index.
It is important to reiterate that the timely posting of scores is essential to maintaining an up-to-date handicap. During the Active Season, your handicap will be revised at the end of each day. Post your scores as soon as possible, so that the latest revision accurately reflects how you are playing.
MAXIMUM SCORE FOR EACH HOLE
The maximum score for each hole played is limited to a net double bogey- which is equal to par of the hole, plus two strokes (double bogey) and any handicap strokes the player is entitled to receive on that hole based on their course handicap. The net double bogey adjustment prevents high individual hole scores from inflating a player’s handicap index and promotes fair play when golfers of various abilities enjoy a round of golf together.
POSTING SCORES
It is ultimately the golfer’s responsibility to post their own scores – all rounds played must be posted in order to compete in handicapped events. The Golf Shop will post all scores after the completion of any competition or event held.
Where to post your score: Scores may be posted at any time on www.ghin.com or by using the GHIN app on your smart phone.
Note 1: If you fail to post a score for a stipulated round, the failure to post will result in a score equal to your lowest Handicap Differential in the players scoring record.
Note 2: In considering all of the available evidence the Committee has the authority to adjust a player’s Handicap Index in conjunction with the Soft and Hard Cap Rules of the World Handicap System.
PACE OF PLAY
Playing golf at a reasonable pace is consistent with the traditions of the game, the traditions of the Union League and demonstrates the proper respect for our fellow members and their guests. All groups playing are expected to meet the Union League’s pace of play standard as defined by each facility.
Torresdale: 4:05 | National: 4:05 | Liberty Hill: 4:10
Each golf cart is equipped with the PACE GPS system. This system notifies each group on their pace of play throughout their round and is a valuable tool in understanding where you stand in your own pace of play. If your pace is behind, you will be automatically notified on your golf cart’s screen.
If you have been notified of slow play and cannot get back into position, or are not willing to allow groups to play through that wish to play at an appropriate pace, the Companion Amenity Committee may be notified to ensure the enjoyment of all members on the golf course.
A few notes to keep in mind regarding pace of play:
• Be prepared to play at all times.
• Always carry an extra ball.
• Be ready to hit when it is your turn and feel free to play ready golf.
• Always rake your own fairway bunker and replace your own divot.
• Repair ball marks and prepare to putt while others are playing their ball.
• Play from the appropriate tees (guests with a course handicap of 10 or higher may not play from the back tees).
• If you reach your maximum allowable score, pickup.
The following states the consequences of the Union League's pace of play policy as determined by the Companion Amenity Committee:
When a member’s foursome plays at Torresdale and National over 4:05, or at Liberty Hill over 4:10 AND a group behind them is negatively impacted:
• After First Offense: Member receives a letter notifying them of slow play from the Companion Amenity Committee and golf staff.
• After Second Offense: Member is not permitted to play on either course prior to 2:00pm for 2 months after the date of the second offense.
