What to do when your car breaks down

Remain calm and pull over to the side of the road

If you're stuck on the side of the road and your car breaks down, don't panic. Take a deep breath and stay calm -- it's better to take a few moments to collect yourself than rush into nto an unsafe situation. Try to pull safely to the side of the road and turn on your hazard lights. If there's a serious problem with your car, you should call a tow truck or mechanic

Turn on your hazard lights

When your car breaks down and you have to stop on the roadside, it's important to be safe. First, turn on your hazard lights. This helps drivers behind you see you and slow down so they're not endangering themselves by driving too fast and needlessly slowing other drivers who are passing you by o orr allowed to go around. Also, don't forget to move your car off the road if it is causing a hazard or can't be seen because of a blind spot.
