Man shot dead as he walks in on raid
Killing comes just a day after brother of Marco Archer slain By RICARDO WELLS Tribune Staff Reporter rwells@tribunemedia.net A MAN was shot dead as he walked unsuspecting into an armed robbery of a store last night - a killing that comes just a day after the murder of the brother of 11-year-old Marco Archer, who was killed seven years ago. The latest killing came at a business on First Street, Coconut Grove, where, shortly before 6pm, two armed men entered and held the employees at bay while they robbed the store
of an undetermined amount of cash. The shooting came as the raiders fled - when a male customer entered the building as they were leaving. One of the gunmen shot the man as the robbers departed. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to hospital, where he later died of his injuries. The man shot dead outside of his North Street home on Tuesday is Rico Archer, brother of 11-yearold Marco Archer. SEE PAGE THREE

LUCAYAN PAYOUTS ‘BEFORE CHRISTMAS’ By AVA TURNQUEST Tribune Chief Reporter aturnquest@tribunemedia.net THE government is working on completing voluntary separation payouts for Grand Lucayan staff before Christmas, according to Finance Minister K Peter Turnquest, who yesterday insisted there was an agreement with the workforce’s trade unions. Mr Turnquest suggested negotiations between those groups were ongoing up
until Tuesday as he fielded questions about the process outside Parliament. His comments came after Tribune Business exclusively published an interview with Michael Scott, chair of the special purpose vehicle that controls the resort, who said the payouts will proceed without such an agreement. CHARITY organisations such as the Children’s Emergency Hostel, Persis Rodgers Home for the Aged and the Ranfurly Home for Children have all reported their donations for the Christmas season are down.
