Celtics send 76ers home, face Cavs in East finals By JIMMY GOLEN AP Sports Writer BOSTON (AP) — Jayson Tatum caught a pass underneath the basket, shook off a hit and went up for the go-ahead layup with 23 seconds left and the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 114-112 last night to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. Tatum scored 25 points, Jaylen Brown had 24 and Terry Rozier 17, sinking a pair of free throws after forcing Joel Embiid’s turnover in the final seconds. Al Horford added 15 points and eight rebounds for Boston, which will play Cleveland for the second straight year for a spot in the NBA finals. Game 1 is Sunday in Boston. Embiid had 27 points and 12 rebounds for the 76ers, who won 20 out of 21 games before Boston beat them three straight times to open the East semi-finals. Dario Saric had 27 points and 10 rebounds, and Ben Simmons added 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

As the BBFF officially announced the upcoming 45th edition of its nationals, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Michael Pintard indicated how the collaboration is expected to operate. “The MYSC’s sports platform has six pillars, several relate to what will be happening this weekend, and we encourage the public to come out and support. We believe that it is possible for sports to play a key role in fighting obesity and noncommunicable diseases in the Bahamas. The BBFF will play a pivotal role going forward partnering with the Ministries of Sports and Health. As the public might be aware the Minister of Health and myself engaged in the Prime Minister’s ‘Over-The-Hill’ project and a part of what we seek to do is to create recreational

It’s decision day for prep basketball star Franco Miller Jr. Miller will announce his decision and sign his letter of intent today at the campus of his alma mater, Tabernacle Baptist Academy Falcons. Miller’s meteoric rise in recruitment has been reduced to five schools for his decision – the Oklahoma Sooners, Ole Miss Rebels, Oregon Ducks, Minnesota Golden Gophers and Towson Tigers. The 6’2, 180-pound guard previously received offers from Hofstra, Montana State, Wyoming, St Bonaventure and Illinois at Chicago. By RENALDO DORSETT Tribune Sports Reporter rdorsett@tribunemedia.net THE Bahamas Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation has set the stage to host its biggest show of the year as athletes vie for bragging rights and roster spots on upcoming national teams. The 45th edition of the BBF Nationals and Novice Championships is scheduled for May 12 at the Melia Resort’s Grand Ballroom. Prejudging will begin at 9am and the entrance fee is $10 at the door. The finals will be held at 7pm with tickets available in several categories - General - $20 in advance and $25 at the Door, VIP - $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Women’s divisions include the Physique, Bikini, Wellness while men’s divisions include Physique, Bodybuilding and Masters. BBFF President Joel Stubbs said over 50 athletes are expected to participate, highlighted by an extensive list of newcomers looking to challenge defending champions and veterans. “We are most excited and most pleased to have the event return to the Melia like the audience has requested. We will feature a lot of newcomers, which is very exciting to hear. A lot of new persons in the many
