Sands: Agree bigger total for Dorian victims

HEALTH Minister Dr Duane Sands said a multiministerial decision will have to be made to confirm that over 200 people have died due to Hurricane Dorian. Giving an update on the unidentified victims from the monster storm, Dr Sands told The Tribune that the relevant authorities will have to make a decision to confirm that more than 200 people lost their lives during Hurricane Dorian. “At some point, the
government of The Bahamas will have to declare that over 200 people have died in Hurricane Dorian but I cannot officially say that as that is a multi-ministerial decision. We have to do our due diligence and meet to decide. We want to move all of the outstanding matters to an agreed consensus or conclusion. We want to bring some closure. ‘PAY $1,500 FOR BEATING GIRLFRIEND’
A MAN was yesterday ordered to pay his exgirlfriend over $1,000 for beating her up last year. Mario Phillip Bethel, 49, was ordered to pay Nadjila Yearwood $1,500 for the injuries she sustained when he punched her in the head, face and arm on December 31, 2019.
