Grade A Radio began broadcasting as Houston Street Kings. Houston is the most diverse city in the nation, but it is also the most segregated with an record number of disconnected and gated communities of every type. Grade A Media is a showcase for what Houstonians have in common and a unifying space for cultures as well as age groups, showcasing talk radio and music from a wide array of genres and spanning generations.

An unmatched format

The format of Grade A Radio consists of a community radio model of content, including music and talk formats, enabling individuals, groups, and communities to tell their own stories, to share experiences and, in a media-rich world, to become creators and contributors of media. Contributors will encompass public, educational, and governmental constituencies from the City of Houston and neighboring towns. Grade A Radio programming is in accordance with the first Amendment, existing law and FCC Regulations.

Grade A Media was founded and established in 2008 by Derrick (Squrilla Montana) Williams. The Name describes the type of quality and service the company provided. A Mission Driven Platform

Grade A Radio’s mission is to operate a licensed radio station in Houston that provides a media platform to present diverse local, entertaining, informative and educational programming, and to enable community participation in all aspects of the station. Grade A Radio will focus its programming specifically on Houston and neighboring Greater Houston communities.
