In 1980, Noah Clark’s music career was not going as planned. He decided that, until the band made it big, he would clean fish to support his family.

We moved a little ways down the road and unload vessels every day at our docks on Point Judith in Narragansett, Rhode Island. We’re still a family-owned company, now in its second generation with Noah’s son, Ryan, The Town Dock’s President & CEO.
And now—45 years later—The Town Dock is recognized around the world for

Foodservice Pack Styles
Each of our calamari foodservice products come in one or more of these pack styles. Please see each product line’s page for availability.
Block Frozen Bag
The foodservice standard: 2.5 pound bags, block frozen in trays. Master cases are either 10 pounds (4 bags) or 25 pounds (10 bags), depending on the product line.
Portion Packs
A convenient option for busy kitchens! These frozen 8-ounce portions are rolled in bags so you can easily slack and add marinade if you wish. All product lines come in a 10 pound master case: two 5-pound boxes, with 10 portions per box.
Whole Frozen
For the most hands-on teams, we offer whole squid. Frozen right off the dock, we offer both brined and unbrined squid in two sizes, depending on landings. These are 44 pound master cases, packed with four 11-pound boxes.

Premium Domestic Calamari
Species: Illex illecebrosus
Common Names: Northern Shortfin Squid
COOL: Product of United States
The Town Dock is the proud pioneer of the Northern Shortfin Squid for foodservice!
Caught in the cold, deep waters of the northern Atlantic Ocean, this squid often travels in large schools, allowing for more efficient fishing. This means a more competitive price point for a USA product. This has a more buttery color and savory flavor that many chefs prefer.
Common Names: Japanese Flying Squid, Wellington Flying Squid, Argentine Shortfin Squid
COOL: Argentina, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Spain, Uruguay
Our Classic Calamari is the standard of the old-school Italian restaurant. Larger and sturdier, this product offers excellent plate coverage, and it is a great choice for stuffed tubes or those big, crowd-pleasing rings.

Our Traditionally Cleaned Calamari is essentially the same as our Fully Cleaned Calamari line, except it is, of course, traditionally cleaned. This means that while the skin and head are removed, the fins (wings) are left on, and there is a little bit more head meat left on the tentacles. The reduced cleaning labor results in a lower price.
