I wonder how many of you have not thought about your wedding flowers yet? Or even decided your colour scheme? You may have changed your mind over and over again and just can’t settle on what you really want. To be honest that can be the case for most couples trying to design the perfect day. Well I have come up with a few inspirational wedding flower ideas to get your creative minds thinking.
Bold colours amongst a delicate combination of muted shades work really well to ensure that the larger focal flowers are clearly seen but that the rest of the flowers are not forgotten. I created this wild and wondrous bouquet using lighter and smaller flowers to enhance the beauty of the bouquet and relax any harsh shapes and lines. These orange and red Dahlias work beautifully with the bright fountain grass’s speckled wisps of green and the textured hanging hops.
This bouquet on the right by Holly Heider Chapple Flowers really struck me with its combination of beautiful dark coral and pinks. I love how the Roses and Peonies give off such striking colours with their large flower heads acting as the main focal features of the bouquet. Daisies are gracefully breaking up the harsh edges with their soft white petals and eye-catching yellow centers, which complement the bright Craspedia. These give added texture along with the peachy Hypericum berries, pale green foliage and dainty pink Astilbe also offering a little height difference.

This beautiful deep red and white garden rose bouquet was made for a Christmas Shoot by Whimsical Floral. The pale dusty green foliage enhances the velvety red and white flowers. The peach colors blend perfectly and offer a romantic timeless design. This bouquet would work especially well with a vintage colour wedding dresses, creams and dusty pinks.
White panda Anemone’s have been a recent favorite of mine especially for winder weddings. This bouquet was created with stunning flowers but with the intention of having a soft texture and color palette. With bright white Ranunculus, dusty pink mentha Roses and grey Brunia and foliage. Not forgetting the large white garden O’Hara Roses and pale green succulents.
I love this arrangement which I made for a Barn Wedding. Large white statement Dahlias against a background of dark greens and a mixture of warm purples blending into maroons and deep reds. Once again the fountain grass was used to disperse the chunky hard shape and loosen the overall texture.
Hopefully this has broadened your vision on colour schemes, style and flower choice for the big day. Think also about your ribbon choice, currently long trailing ribbons are all the rage and raw materials, textures and simple patterns. You could opt to use materials/ fabrics that are sentimental to add in a piece of the old! Now you just need to find something borrowed, new and blue.
