Crafty Thursdays! “Spill the Beans”, the café at Carshalton Beeches Baptist Church, hosts regular craft workshops to bring like-minded people together and offer fun activities to the community. No need for any previous knowledge, our lovely teachers will show you everything, and you will go home with some beautiful hand-made craft! Quiz Night - Thursday 27 February 2020 at 19:30 A Friends of Honeywood Museum Event The Friends of Honeywood Museum have teamed up with our neighbours at The Greyhound Hotel for a quiz and raffle night in the warm surroundings of the main bar - come and pitch your wits in the convivial atmosphere of the pub perfect for a cold February evening! Thursday 26 March 19:30 A Friends of Honeywood Museum Event, The Old Rectory, Carshalton An illustrated talk by Sue Horne, author of “A Respectable Parsonage House”, a history of this Grade II listed building. Surprisingly, the house only functioned as a rectory for less than a third of its life. The occupants were not, as might be expected, all clergyman. Instead, they were a rich mixture of different people who either owned, lived in, or worked in the Old Rectory over the past 300 years. Tickets £5 (£4 Friends). Phone 020 8642 4778 to book.

Beddington Evening Townswomen’s Guild Meet on the second Tuesday each month from 7:30 - 9:30pm at The Guide Hall, next to the Duke’s Head pub. Limited visitor cost at £2 per session and annual cost of £30 at present which includes 12 sessions. Business meetings, talks, raffles, tea and sales table at most of the evenings. VOLUNTEER MENTORS WANTED Could you be a local hero? MAPS is looking for volunteer mentors to support vulnerable young people in the borough. Why are you needed? MAPS have young people with complex lives facing difficult issues and they need your time and support. Could you be the role model/mentor they need? Do you have 1 to 2 hours a week where you could meet with a young person to listen and engage them? What are we looking for? We are looking for volunteers who have a positive attitude towards children and young people and a desire to help them achieve their full potential. Some one who is a positive role model. Patient, calm, a good listener and who is non-judgemental. Does this sound like you?
