Planners work to cut costs on Discovery Center BY SUZANNE LINDGREN EDITOR@OSCEOLASUN.COM
Project planners for Osceola’s under-construction village hall and library building, known as the Discovery Center, are making headway on several cost cutting measures, according to Village Administrator Joel West. Architectural firm SEH and construction management firm Market & Johnson have been working to re-price and rebid specifications for the ceiling, architectural woodwork, flooring, HVAC, electrical, sprinklers and site work. “Brad Kemis from Market & Johnson is reviewing with the bidders some of the items and looking at possible reductions or alternate materials that don’t sacrifice quality but would be a little less expensive,” West told village board members Nov. 14.
