The musical roster for this year’s Osceola Community Fair includes acts from northwest Wisconsin and the Twin Cities. In the Fields will perform Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Twin Cities trio’s potential set list includes chart toppers ranging from Johnny Cash’s 1963 hit, “Ring of Fire,” to Pharrel Williams’ best-selling 2014 song, “Happy.” Chris Kroeze, a singer and songwriter from Barron, will perform country, blues and Southern rock Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3:30. my device is set to play Saturday evening at 7:30, with upbeat, danceable performances of songs

Osceola School District administrators have drafted an initial $19.14 million budget proposal for the 2018-2019 school year, with an associated $8.2 million levy. Revenue and spending— based for now on projections of pupil numbers, state aid, and local property values — are estimated to be about $56,000 lower than last year’s revenue. The levy is expected to increase by about $211,000. However, because rising property values will likely offset the increase, the mill rate would drop from 9.6 to 9.47. The debates air at 10 a.m. Mondays on Rich Kremer’s “The West Side,” 88.3 WHWC-FM/ Menomonie-Eau Claire and 88.7 WRFW-FM/ River Falls. One hot summer day in 2016, Wade White brought his father, Warren White, out into the woods. “Where can we put a disc golf course?” Wade asked, walking through the raspberry patches and brambles. The father-son pair roughed out a plan, which would change and change again as they sought approvals from various commissions and agencies. But they never gave up on the project.
