Despite these trying times, COMM-CAST's FUN-DEMYA successfully re-aired their virtual benefit show with the theme "Hello, Self: Warm Embrace for a Weary Heart" via Facebook from October 28 to 30, 2021.

Warm Embrace for a Weary Heart: AB Communication students re-aired FUN-DEMYA in the hope of raising financial help for the beneficiaries. "So, as our way of giving back to the community through a virtual show, we wanted to spread hope and joy amidst the pandemic," the director added.

COMM-CAST's FUN-DEMYA is a virtual concert led by UPang's Association of Communication Students (UPACS) in partnership with the project COMM-PASSION — a student-run foundation of AB Communication Students. Through sponsorships, the virtual benefit show aimed to raise funds for their chosen beneficiaries who are in dire need and at risk of dropping from school because of the pandemic poverty.

According to Irish Stephanie Caoile, Production Director, the initial plan was to re-air the FUN-DEMYA staged early this year. Still, due to the online obituaries — especially during the surge of Delta, FUN-DEMYA, the COMM-BACK took place as the podcast was additionally suggested.

"So, as our way of giving back to the community through a virtual show, we wanted to spread hope and joy amidst the pandemic," the director added. The virtual show was aired for three days and split into three episodes, namely Fun (with 2.3K views), Faith (with 970+ ideas), and Family (with 1.2K views).

Following the event's success was not only for the chosen beneficiaries but the positive and rewarding feeling of the staff that was passionate behind the scenes. "Talaga namang helpful ang prod not only sa target beneficiaries, pati na rin sa viewers (sa pamamagitan lang ng panonood).” John Ren Tabor, participant, expressed.

Director Irish hoped for the next batch to continue and have more consistent financial help from the beneficiaries. "God will make a way for that to happen po." she replied with optimism. The next COMM-CAST will be expected next year, along with the possible reopening of classes and other much-awaited events and activities.

Undying compassion: AB Communication students continue to offer motivating performances despite the pandemic.
