NEWS| Flames are back, Reaching Ultimate Goals for A.Y. 21-22

"For together we stand. Divided, we fall." - To begin the first semester of this school year, UPang Flames embarked on their First Week Hi on August 02, 2021.

It is its third time to be celebrated virtually due to the outbreaking of the Covid-19 Virus. The UPang Flames went back to school, and they were all welcomed by different student councils led by the Supreme Student Council (SSC), who conducted various activities for students to join. The activities were open for all students, available for Registered Student Organization (RSO) and Inter-College Competition.

The activities open for one and all were the E-Poster-Making Contest, Get-to-know-me challenge, and CODM tournament. For into RSO competition, we have Creative photography with one representative per organization and one activity for Inter-College Competition, the Lip sync battle. For the student engagement activity, UPang Flames savored and showed off their fashion senses for the OOTD challenge in line with the celebration of First Week Hi prepared by the SSC with the enactment of weekly dress codes: Best OOTD Monday, Stripes Tuesday, Uniform Wednesday, Floral Friday and Future Profession Sunday.

First Hi, first impression: Through expressing different personalities, students of Phinma Upang participated in the First Week Hi conducted by the Student Council.

“We Are Back” is the general theme for this semester’s First Week Hi. “We are back to achieve our dreams, ito ang napiling theme dahil kahit na mayroong pandemic/covid, kahit may mga problema sa buhay, mahirap ang pinag dadaanan ay walang makakapigil sa ating mga panagarap. Maa-achieve natin ito, so we are back, the Flames are back." According to Francis Ranelle Sta. Cruz, the chairman of the event.

The SSC has its one goal purpose of the First Week Hi, is to activate the feeling of the students that we are here again to continue reaching our goals, reaching our dreams to make it possible.

"Ito ‘yung magiging start para sa kanila, ito na ‘yung umpisa ng panibagong chapter ng buhay nila/ko bilang student ng Phinma-Upang.”

The SSC, personnel, and committees appraised and evaluated the activities to be enjoyed by the students in showcasing their skills and talents online. Student organizations and people behind this event were thankful for the UPang Flames to make this First- Week-Hi successful.
