Emily Henry’s ‘Beach Read’ describes two writers: one who is stuck in a writer’s block and the other, who has completely given up on love. January is a hopeless romantic who narrates her life like she is the main character in an action movie. Gus is a more literary, realistic guy who thinks ‘true love’ only exists in fairy tales. Neighbours for the summer, they decide to write in each others’ genre in the hope of writing a whole new piece. The two writers have more in common than you would think…
About the author
Emily Henry is a full-time writer who studied Creative Writing at Hope College. She also studied at the New York Center for Art and Media Studies. Henry is the #1 New York Times best selling author for her works, People W e M eet On V acation and B each Read. She grew up in Northern Kentucky and now resides in Cincinnati. She wrote Beach Read during the pandemic and it was only released May 18, 2020.
