Firefighters Act Fast On Structure Fire

Under the command of Third Assistant Chief Joseph Feola of Centereach Fire Department, first on location of a fast moving working residential structure fire. Centereach volunteer firefighters and mutual aid departments under Chief Feola’s command made a fast aggressive exterior attack. The structure was a total loss. There was no reported injuries.

Former Mastic Beach Hardware Store Destroyed In Fire

Over a dozen departments responded to a fire last week at the former Smittys Hardware Store property in Mastic Beach. No one was injured during the fire but it took volunteers hours to get the former hardware and lumber yard under control. As of press time, the fire was still under investigation.
