LOCALLY OWNED BUSINESS

Sterling Mattress Factory Owned by Mike and Treena Wicoff, Sterling Mattress Factory in Herrin, creates handcrafted mattress sets, Memory Foam sets, adjustable beds, lift chairs, custom-size mattresses, headboards, and accessories – simply everything you need for a comfortable nights sleep. “The handcraftsmanship of our mattresses sets them apart from massproduced products and provides ‘oldfashioned’ value that our customers can’t see, but it’s there,” Mike said. “For example, instead of using the standard one-and-half pound foam, we use two to five pound. It’s a difference you really can’t see, but it raises the quality of our mattresses.” Mostly it greatly decreases body impressions; and our customers love that! Mike said that the biggest trend today is the no-flip mattress. Sterling however, offers both the newer no-flip and the traditional two-sided mattresses, so customers can have their choice. Sterling mattresses are all in stock and ready to go. No waiting. Custom orders usually take 2-10 days; most less than a week.

Sterling Mattress Factory cuts out the retail store part of the equation and sells direct from the factory to you. More than 24,000 satisfied customers from across Southern Illinois are testimony to the store’s success. “We can produce a quality handcrafted mattress for about the same price or less than a mass-producing product, Mike said. “Yet, we put in the extra value that others don’t.” “In addition to having competitive prices, the friendly and knowledgeable “Sleep Factory” staff makes the both shopping and delivery experience a pleasure. Master craftsman Brian Wicoff is the production manager and keeps the operation running smoothly and efficiently to ensure quality and on-time delivery. “Professional Sleep Expert” Bryan Shroeder not only crafts the mattresses, but also sells them as well. The newest addition to the craftsmen of Sterling Mattress Factory is Joe Colvin. Wicoff said that Sterling Mattress Factory has one main goal, “We’re dedicated to giving the people of Southern Illinois a good night’s sleep.”

The English Photographer Many people today call themselves photographers. They purchase a digital camera and some software then think they have everything they need to take great pictures. They’re wrong. Great photographs and portraits require a great photographer – Sherra English of The English Photographer in Herrin. Holding a bachelor’s degree in photography, English has been taking – and thinking about — pictures for years. Today she works both in her studio and on location to capture memories of weddings, class reunions, dances, special events and milestones. “I try to give my clients memories that will last forever,” English says. “I like to sit down and discuss what they want before we begin taking pictures so that we have the same vision.” She is a much sought-after photographer for weddings, infants and senior portraits. Even family pets are a frequent subject for pictures. A popular product The English Photographer provides is a coffee table book of images from the graduating

student’s photo shoot. She also offers special packages for her youngest clients. “One of the things I do is photos of newborns, then again at three, six and nine months as well as at one year of age, then I provide the family with a free album for their baby’s first year,” she says. The English Photographer can provide special products including purses and jewelry with photos, portraits up to 20 by 30 inches and photo trading cards for any event or occasion. She said that clients can choose from a variety of settings and backgrounds for pictures as well as a number of special effects including black-and-white photos, sepia images, infrared photography or special color treatments.

Murdale True Value

PHOTO PROVIDED

Murdale True Value, located on Carbondale’s west side has only one public entrance, but through those doors both professionals and do-ityourselfers can find almost anything for practically any project. The reason, says Murdale owner George Sheffer, is that the True Value store is more than just a single entity. “We really have four different stores in one,” he says. “That all adds to the value our customers receive in price, service, selection and quality.” Sheffer says Murdale is a complete appliance retailer, a rental company, a hardware store and a full lock shop with locksmiths. He says that the combination of the four “stores” give Murdale True Value a different approach to serving customers. “If you are wanting to complete practically any project, here you can get the expertise to make your job easier along with the products and equipment you’ll need to do the job,”

he explains. Sheffer offers the example of a homeowner who wants to paint his home. “A lot of places will sell you paint, but what people really need to know is that the job is not just about paint,” he adds. “It goes back to the knowledge of how to do the whole job the right way. The preparation of the surface is key. It means using the right products and the right applicators, too.” To make the task even easier, Murdale’s rental department offers everything from paint sprayers to motorized lifts. Beyond painting and staining, the same level of service, expertise and easy-to-use tools are available for a countless number of projects. “We add value for our customers by helping them get the end results they want,” Sheffer explains. “People need to understand that the true cost of a project can only be calculated when the project is all said and done.. That’s what sets us

apart. We can help from start to finish. With us, the project is safe, easy and done.” He explained that the philosophy of Murdale True Value is to make things easier for the customer, not for themselves. “No matter what area or what type of project it is, if you go to other places you’ll see that they do one thing: what they think is easiest for them. For example, when it comes to selling things like nuts and bolts or nails, they want to put them into packages because it is the most convenient way for them to ring them up and keep track of how many they sell. But is it easier for the customer?” Sheffer points out that customers can try nuts on to a bolt they bring in to the store to make sure they get the correct size instead of having to guess that the nuts in a package will fit. Also, Murdale will sell any number of many fasteners and other hardware items. “If you want to buy just one or two, you can buy

Page 4 Thursday, June 24, 2010 The Southern Illinoisan

just one or two instead of a dozen or more,” he said. “Buy whatever you need. We’re not forcing you into a package. It’s more of a customer-delight focus rather than just meeting their needs. It goes way beyond that in a nice way.” Customer service is plentiful in every department of Murdale True Value. The store boasts the largest selection of Weber grills and grilling accessories in southern Illinois. “We feel that we are dominant in the grill business,” he says. “We have expertise that most places do not have in getting the most from your grill. Plus we’re a Weber warranty service center, so we can repair grills should they ever need it.” The same goes for appliances. Murdale has a vast selection of major home appliances. “We offer aggressive pricing on appliances, but our advantages don’t end there. We don’t have all of the other hidden fees that many other stores have.” Murdale does not charge

for delivery or limit delivery just to the curb. “We do standard installation completely free,” Sheffer says. “We’ll come, put in the new unit, take the old one away if you wish and do an environmentally-friendly disposal of it. We’ve done that for years and it’s just a service we do to take care of our customers.” Recently Sheffer heard from a customer who asked a Murdale team member in appliances for advice in connecting a refrigerator’s ice maker. The customer told Sheffer that the associate not only educated him on how to do it, he went with the customer to the plumbing department to make sure he got all of the correct fittings and tools for the job. “You come get the products you need, so however you want to do a project, we can help you. We have the expertise and the equipment to do it,” Sheffer says. Everyone at Murdale True Value is proud of the way they treat their

customers, but they are also proud of their communities. The store frequently supports local charitable and civic organizations including Big Brothers, Big Sisters and the Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale. Recently, Murdale was designated as one of the top five “Youth Friendly Businesses” in Jackson County by the Jackson County Positive Youth Development Coalition. “We try to be very involved in the community. We care about our community,” Sheffer explains. “We live here, we work here and we play here. This is not a stepping stone to somewhere else for us. Our kids go to school here, we plan on retiring here. That’s why we try to put a lot back into the community. We try to help out organizations and we’ll even put on fun days so the kids can come here and play for free. It’s all about giving back to the community.”

Square Deal Clothing House Founded in 1885, Square Deal Clothing House is known for its wide selection of name-brand clothing for men, boys, and toddlers, including extended sizes for big and tall men. They are also uniform headquarters for many employers, such as local police, fire, and EMT departments. Formal wear rental is also available. They offer professional fitting services in store and at local long-term care facilities or work sites. Custom embroidery is also available with no setup fees and no minimum number of items. Square Deal’s 125-year history is rich with family tradition. Burke J. Yeager, began working at Square Deal in 1922 at the age of 16. Over the years, he bought into the business and became the owner in 1953. Today, daughter, Phyllis Elaine Grob, and granddaughter, Carolyn Gallegly, are co-owners. Carolyn has worked in the business since she was 12 years old. Square Deal has fixtures dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s. “You won’t find racks and shelving units like this in other stores,” Gallegly says. “We

have an antique display of store memorabilia ranging from the first cash register to glove stretchers, shirt collars, and more.” For 107 years, the store was located in the block across from the court house in Murphysboro. In 1992, the business relocated to 8th and Walnut. In 2006, they moved to their current home. “After remodeling the building, all of the antique fixtures were moved to the new location with the help of dedicated customers and friends,” Gallegly says. “As in the previous move, this move was completed without the business closing for even one day. Customer service is the top priority at Square Deal.”

The Rabbit Patch You know that comfortable and welcoming feeling when you walk into a country home? Customers of The Rabbit Patch Cottage in Herrin know that feeling very well. For more than 20 years, The Rabbit Patch Cottage has been one of southern Illinois’ favorite and most unique shops. “We specialize in country décor as well as florals, candles, lighting accessories, quilts and curtains, custom signs and more,” said owner Melissa Harper.

She said the old and new “primitive” furniture is a specialty of the store. “We offer a lot of new wooden furniture that is painted and distressed. We also have a lot of antiques that we give some special treatment, too,” she said. The store offers everything from entertainment centers to tables and chairs, all with the loved and worn look. “Everything has that country feel,” she added.

Whiffle Boy’s Pizza Whiffleboys Pizza was opened five years ago by two 23-year-old SIU students, Tim Reiman and Brad Henderson. It is the only locally owned and operated pizza business in Murphysboro. They started with a Reiman family recipe for wings and began working with pizza when they moved into their flagship building on Walnut Street in Murphysboro. Reiman became the sole owner in 2006. In 2009 Tim opened his second location in Carbondale at the old Dominos location. They now serve lunch every day at that location. A third location in Anna just opened this month and will also serve lunch daily. At Whiffleboys Pizza, customers can always expect that fresh dough was used to make their pizza, breadsticks or cheese sticks. All three locations pride themselves on the freshness of their quality ingredients. Several choices such as subs and salads are also available for the clientele who may not be in the mood for pizza. Of course there are also four types of the wings that started it all.

Whiffleboys also offers catering and can be contacted at any time for details. Being locally owned Whiffleboys wanted to develop a loyalty card program to reward all of their customers. Now the next time their customers are craving some pizza they can order from Whiffleboys and be rewarded for eating what they want.

Vogler Ford-Mazda If you were to do a little research, you could easily learn that Time magazine made its debut on American newsstands in 1923. That same year the New York Yankees unveiled a new stadium in the Bronx called Yankee Stadium, also known as “The House that Ruth Built.” And a guy named Roy, along with his little brother Walt, started a little company that you may have heard of. They called it the Walt Disney Company. Fast forward eighty seven years….the old Yankee Stadium has been replaced by a newer one, but the team that plays there is more successful than any team in baseball. Time magazine is still a respected source for news, and Walt Disney World is one of the best-known name brands in the world. Another company that got its start that same year is right here in our back yard. Yes, it was 1923 when Ed Vogler, Sr. started Vogler Motor Company in Carbondale, IL. And like those other companies, Vogler has stood the test of

time. The New York Yankees didn’t win 27 World Series by accident. They built a tradition of winning and excellence that their fans and players have come to expect and that they can take great pride in. Like the Yankees, Vogler has spent decades cultivating an atmosphere of family with a strong commitment to excellence as well. To be a part of the Vogler team is a great source of pride for its employees. Time magazine didn’t become the respected news source that it is by reporting news that wasn’t backed up with facts and reported by people with ethics. And you can’t sell and service cars in the same town for 87 years without telling people the truth, and if you don’t have strong ethics word gets around pretty fast. A company like Disney continues to be a leader in customer satisfaction by going above and beyond to make their customers happy. If something is wrong, they make it right. People travel from around the globe to visit the

Disney parks. That same philosophy has propelled Vogler to the top when it comes to customer satisfaction. They stand behind what they sell and people come from all over Southern Illinois and further to buy from a dealer they know they can trust. You don’t last 87 years without a strong commitment to whatever it is that you are doing. That’s the nuts and bolts of what makes Vogler Motor Company the business that it is today. Vogler has remained true to its mission statement of striving to make sure that every customer is completely satisfied. They believe the way to achieve that goal is by culturing an environment where long-term relationships are the standard. Since the beginning in 1923, Ed Vogler Sr. stressed a family tradition of honesty, trust and integrity. Those values were handed down to sons Ed and Don, who ran the store until their retirements. When the time came for

them to step down, they looked within the Vogler organization for the next ‘generation’ to carry it on. Frank Black began his career at Vogler as a salesman on a ‘temporary’ basis, working his way to become the next owner, and ended up serving the family business for over 50 years. Just like the Vogler family did with him, Frank looked within for his successors, and that brings us to where we are today in 2010. Dennis Rathjen and Bryan Black are the current owners. Both of these men ‘cut their teeth’ in the automotive business learning how to do it the Vogler way. Like Frank, they started at entry level positions and worked their way through the dealership until it was their turn to pick up the torch and carry it forward. So, although there isn’t anyone named Vogler who is involved in the operation of the business, the core values have been handed down from generation to generation, and are ingrained in the minds of those who lead Vogler

Motor Company forward today. “We’re proud of what the Vogler family started and we do our best to honor that. We believe that it truly is the best way to operate our business,” said Dennis Rathjen. “Truth, honesty and integrity is important, especially in this business.” Because of the atmosphere and philosophy of the store, it is very rare for someone to leave Vogler for another job in the auto industry. President and Owner, Dennis Rathjen has been with the company since 1972. Co-owner Bryan Black started in 1977. That’s 38 and 33 years respectively! The Vogler sales staff is no different. Of the 14 sales staff employees, the average tenure with Vogler Motor Company is over 11 years. Compare that any other store and you’ll find that something different is happening at Vogler Motor Company. New Car Sales Manager, Tim Hirsch has been with the company for 13+ years.

“It’s really about relationships. Working here is like being with your family, and that carries over to the way we try to treat people who do business with us. They’re part of the Vogler family too.” The business operates sales and service of new Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda products at their facility across from the University Mall in Carbondale at 1170 East Main Street. They also run a collision center and major parts distribution center from their other location on 301 North Illinois Avenue, where they also own and operate one of 4 NAPA Auto Parts stores. The others are in Murphysboro, Herrin and Marion. Time Magazine, the New York Yankees and Walt Disney World each have something in common with Vogler Motor Company. The one thing Vogler has that the other top companies don’t ……Vogler is locally owned!

He said the shop also offers service such as alignments, shocks, alternators, belts, hoses, oil changes and lubes and some electrical work. “Because we’re not as big as some of the ‘big boys’, we do have to try harder. That means better and friendlier service in most cases,” owner Mark Holt said.

HR Physical Therapy HR Physical Therapy is an independently owned clinic. Laura Roach, PT/owner, and her staff offer an array of physical therapy services to the southern Illinois area. WorkSteps employment testing and job analysis are just a few of the services that we offer employers. Our main focus is rehabilitation for musculoskeletal disorders and dysfunctions. Our highly trained and specialized physical therapists offer services for neck and low back pain, post surgical procedures, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, balance and coordination issues, plus many other outpatient diagnoses. Our

main goal is to help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain and prevent further injury through patient and family education. As stated in the PT Magazine in October 1999, “Physical therapists are good people to know. They’re educated in understanding the interaction of all your body parts. Their hands-on approach begins with examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the immediate problem. Then they teach you how to take care of yourself by showing you how to do exercises and how to use your body properly to gain strength and mobility and prevent recurring injury.

You’ll find them advising on proper posture and body motion in the work place, treating injuries, consulting on fitness and administering physical therapy.” HR Physical Therapy employees work hard to provide the best patient care at an optimum cost. We are located behind Logan Primary Care at 3308 Logan Drive in Herrin and are open early morning and late evenings to accommodate before and after work and school schedules. Stop in for a tour and meet our staff, they look forward to getting you back on the go. 993-4024.

Herrin Drug Looking for a hometown pharmacy that knows and cares about the community and its people? Look no further than Herrin Drug, a real hometown pharmacy where you can get courteous and professional service from people you know and trust. “I think that people like doing business with people that they know and trust and who they can see face-to-face,” David Mattingly, pharmacist and owner said. “We support and are involved in the community—in church, in local organizations, in youth sports. Our involvement is important and that separates us from the big chain stores.” For nearly three decades, Herrin Drug has been locally owned and operated. The pharmacy is fully accredited, meaning you can trust the products and advice you receive. Unlike big corporate stores – where service is impersonal and sometimes hard to find – at Herrin Drug, education and free consultations about prescriptions and other medications are the norm. Getting prescriptions from Herrin Drug is easy: come into the pharmacy, use the new drive-up window at the convenient

downtown location or have your medications delivered directly to your home. At Herrin Drug, customer service is a top priority, after all, the staff members are your neighbors and friends. Customers can even drop off dry cleaning, avoiding an extra stop on their errands. A Hallmark Gold Crown store, Herrin Drug offers greeting cards, and gift wrap. You will also find all of the great gifts and supplies to make any occasion extra special. Herrin Drug also carries home health care items and a full line of medical supplies, from first-aid items all the way to hospital beds and liquid oxygen, all with courteous, knowledgeable and professional advice. All of it combine together to make Herrin Drug one of the area’s most innovative pharmacies. “We are a complete, full-service pharmacy,” Mattingly added.

Illinois Manufacturing Extension The Illinois Manufacturing Extension Center’s (IMEC) Recovery Readiness is helping manufacturers capitalize on growth opportunities that are available in the improving economy. Affordable assistance is available to companies to evaluate current performance gaps, develop recovery plans, and receive technical assistance in areas such as quality systems, operating efficiency, and bringing workers up to maximum productivity levels. Southern Illinois manufacturers continue to face challenges in re-building from the recession. To stay in business, many companies reduced workforce levels, deferred maintenance on key equipment and delayed investments in improving operational effectiveness. “Understandably, smaller manufacturers have been focused on ensuring their immediate survival,” said John Remsey, an IMEC specialist based at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. “But the time is now to make sure that they are positioned to take advantage of opportunities that will come as demand increases.” While smaller companies are less confident about the prospects for growth in the next year, many are changing their

business models to compete and win. “Manufacturers who once stood apart simply by being more efficient are scrambling to fill their sales pipelines, even more so because of the downturn,” said Remsey. “Some work from traditional customers simply may not come back. But there is work for those manufacturers who can differentiate themselves, develop valuable products and services, and re-purpose their operations to produce for different markets.” Services are available to help companies restore business in current markets, win business in emerging markets, export their products, and develop new products. The Recovery Center also focuses on helping firms accelerate their ability to meet customer demand and reach peak efficiency as quickly as possible. “Companies that take too long to produce run the risk of losing market share, putting in jeopardy their long run viability,” said Remsey. Visit the Recovery Center at www.imec.org/recoverycenter or call IMEC at 618-453-3829, or e-mail IMEC at info@imec.org.

Exquisite Designs

In less than two years, Exquisite Designs of Herrin has gained a reputation of being a shop that is, well, different. “Since we’ve been open, I think we’ve made an impact,” says Kirk Ladd, who co-owns the combination floral shop and antique purveyor. “We’re known to do a lot of wild or crazy events.” For example, for Exquisite Designs opened at midnight for a Christmas open house. “We were open for 22 straight hours,” Ladd explains. “We’ll do anything to get people’s attention and that includes making the shop look a little different than anybody else’s.” Walk into the shop, and a number of vignettes, designed to showcase both floral designs and antiques. All are available for purchase. “Each vignette has a totally different look, yet they all coordinate,” Ladd says. Some of the sections of the store feature a particular theme. Others provide customers with a way of stepping

back in time. Ladd has been a floral designer for more than 20 years, as well as an interior designer. He uses both skills in the shop, which provides flowers and arrangements for a variety of events. “We handle all occasions,” Ladd adds. “We handle flowers for weddings, special events, memorials and every day florals. We are a full-service florist.” Ladd says the flowers go well with the antiques. Together, they make for memorable displays both in the shop and in customer’s homes. “When it comes to the antiques we’re always looking for something different,” he says. “We focus on unique pieces that we can sell less expensively than other antique shops. He adds that the shop’s staff scourers southern Illinois looking for just the right things. “We buy estates and we go all over looking for pieces of furniture,” he says.

Become One of the Elite Since opening Hawkstorm Academy in March, Lance Burton has been asked many times why he decided on Carterville, what he is about and what his goals are for the school. Those questions and insight as to why the program is both different from the rest and worth your time and energy will be answered here.

elite fighting skills comparable to any in the world. It is also the perfect way to prepare for military service if you feel called to that way of life. You will be pushed past old limitations and continually encouraged to set new goals higher than the ones before.

Lance is unapologetically a born again Christian so the school for him is a place where he can continue serving the Lord in a new way after giving all of his adult life to serving this great nation. He hopes to impart upon the students a heart of service and duty to others that they may cultivate during their time training here at the academy and intends to incorporate his experiences as a military officer, soldier, and FBI Agent into the programs.

Choosing Carterville was an easy decision for Lance. His parents both graduated from High School in West Frankfort and currently live in the southern Illinois area. And, now that he has left government service it is the first time in 18 years that he is in the position to spend time with his parents while he still has the chance. Dad is a retired Illinois State Trooper and helps around the gym. Mom is a Real Estate Broker and helps with his accounting. It's a nice change being able to occasionally grab breakfast or lunch together with his parents more than a couple times a year.

Martial arts training has been a passion of Lance’s all his life. He spent his first 12 years of training in the traditional arts of Taekwondo, Hapkido, Judo, and Okinawan Karate, but later switched to Muay Thai Kickboxing before incorporating Kenjuitsu, Submission Grappling, Boxing, and some Kali into his set of skills. He’s had the good fortune of training with some of the best in the business in each style and have worked year after year at bringing them all together into one system. He tends to think out of the box and believe in teaching students to use any technique that works. However, he has found it beneficial to start all new students with the fundamentals of Muay Thai in order to give them some practical skills that are easy to pick up and learn before adding in his own personal flair. Lance is striving to provide world class martial arts instruction in a professional environment. Many developmental programs including the Basic Course, Junior Warrior Course, and Women's Only Kickboxing are available, however the heart of the Hawkstorm Academy is the Warrior Course. The intensity level in that class is very high with a heavy emphasis on conditioning and developing

Lance W. Burton Chief Instructor / Founder

Hawkstorm Academy has classes 5 days a week, primarily in the evenings and is in the process of building a new gym right near the current location that will include an even more extensive training area, weight room, commercial grade cardio equipment, and more. Anyone who signs up now will have their membership seemlessly transferred to the new training location at no extra cost when it is complete. Early fall is the target date to have the new gym ready. Lance is married to Dr. Stephanie Brown Burton, M.D., of St. Louis. He looks forward to teaching and training with the people of southern Illinois so don't be afraid to drop in and check out what he have to offer - whether you have no experience at all in the martial arts or are a seasoned professional fighter, you will find a place where you can build toward achieving any of your personal goals. Lance looks forward to seeing you!

SIU Credit Union The old advertising adage “Membership has its privileges” could easily be applied to the SIU Credit Union. What began more than 70 years ago as a credit union for people affiliated with Southern Illinois University Carbondale has evolved into a regional financial institution serving more than 26,000 southern Illinoisans through locations in Carbondale, Marion and Metropolis. “We’re very proud of our SIU roots,” says Chris Sievers, marketing director for the SIU Credit Union, “but we’ve expanded with community charters. It’s easy for anyone living or working in southern

Illinois to join the credit union.” Sievers says that a credit union functions like a bank, with one unique characteristic. “The difference is ownership,” he says. “Banks are owned by other people, but all of our members are owners of the credit union.” Membership in the SIU Credit Union is just $5. Because of the memberowners, credit unions usually have lower fee structures and better rates on savings and loan products. “All of our products and services are basically the same as banks, but typically at a credit union,

members will see lower fees, better deposit rates and lower loan rates,” he says. Sievers says members often also see a difference in service. “We work for the members and our members are our owners,” he explains. “We really deliver on offering competitive products and great services. When you walk in the door, we’re going to treat you like an owner because you are an owner.” Members of the SIU Credit Union have access to more than 65,000 free ATMs around the country. Sievers says the network is larger than those of some

national financial institutions, including Bank of America. Plus the ATMs often can be found in convenient locations including retailers and gas stations. Investment management and advisory services are provided through a partnership with Certified Financial Planner Jeff Rose, who assists members with money management, retirement and educational planning and the purchase of a variety of investment products. The SIU Credit Union offers a variety of savings and checking accounts, certificates of deposit, loans of all types, safe deposit boxes, and debit

and credit cards. Debit card users enjoy the benefits of Power Points, an SIUCU program that reward members for doing business with the Credit Union. “A lot of our members take advantage of it, and it’s just a reward for being a member,” Sievers says. “Everybody uses a debit card, why not be rewarded for it?” In the program, members earn points for transactions, savings balances and the use of other services. The points can be exchanged for increases in CD balances, decreases in loan balances or as gift cards. “It’s just another of the

unique benefits of credit union membership,” Sievers says.
