ENTRANCE SAN ANTONIO THE CAUSE: The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide programming that is something for everyone through providing a home for San Antonio’s resident arts organizations, opened its doors this summer after seven years of work as a public-private partnership with the city and the county to renovate the historic Municipal Auditorium. The individual Tobin Center founders are Tobin Center Chairman J. Bruce Bugg Jr., Former Mayor Phil Hardberger, and Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff. The gala’s honorary co-chairs were Bruce and Alethea Bugg, Phil and Linda Hardberger, and Nelson and Tracy Wolff. The Tobin Center opening gala major sponsors were the Tobin Endowment, the Mays Family Foundation, H-E-B, and the Zachry Family, among many other generous supporters. Billinda Wilkinson of Wilkinson Rhodes designed and executed the unforgettable evening.
