A NEW FOUNDATION

In 2024, Second Harvest Food Bank successfully completed a critical warehouse floor renovation project to repair severely damaged floors. This investment reinforced our commitment to safety, efficiency, and long-term service to our tri-county region. Thanks to the generosity of individual donors and foundation partners, approximately 30,000 square feet of compromised flooring at our headquarters on North Murray Street in Springfield was fully replaced.

During the 90-day construction period, which began in March 2024, warehouse operations were temporarily relocated off-site. While no direct services were offered at the temporary location, we maintained a strong presence throughout Clark, Champaign, and Logan Counties by continuing mobile and agency distributions. Thanks to careful planning and community support, we were able to minimize disruptions to service during this transition.
