Among all creatures on this earth, art is a uniquely human activity. In THE SHELTER PRESENTS: ART, four playwrights track the journey of the artist and examine art’s role in the human experience. This exploration spans time and genres, and in true Shelter style, produces a seamless blend of comedy and drama.
ART also introduces a spectrum of art spanning multiple disciplines. The Shelter invites a featured artist to each performance, both to display a gallery of work, as well as to create an original work upon a blank canvass during the performance. The artists include: Aaron Armelin, Anna Bradfield, Ben DeVoe, Nathan Eckenrode, Brandon Hardy, Adam Ludwig, Jebidiah Long, Lauren Nickon, Benny Palanco, Alley Scott, Rebecca Volinsky. In addition to these featured artists, performance art designed and performed by Melinda Smart is woven between plays.
