Haute Workouts • Cont. from Page 28 The cardio striptease is a great toning workout while giving you the opportunity to stay in touch with our feminine side. You can even learn a little routine to “take home.” Talk about hitting lots of birds with one stone! DANCE! ADULT JAZZ, TAP AND HIP HOP: Always wanted to learn some jazz moves? Or maybe to stomp a little to some Fred Astaire? Thanks to the overwhelming popularity to shows like Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance, there is now an abundance of adult dance classes. Almost all of these classes are beginner levels, so you never feel overwhelmed, but also give you the opportunity to perform in recitals and plays. Kennedy Dance Theater offers evening classes and Fred Astaire Dance Studio offers lessons in Salsa, Fox Trot, Tango and more. BOOTCAMP: If dancing isn’t your thing and you want something a little more challenging, there are many local boot camps that you can try. Most of them are on a 4- to 6-week interval so you can just make a 4 to 5 day per week commitment for 6 weeks and that will really jump-

start your weight loss. The workouts are actually fun and different every day. The instructors encourage you – not yell at you – and push you gently to exceed your goals. There are indoor versions – such as Studio Fit in Kemah as well as outdoor versions like Bay Area Texas Bootcamp. There is something for everyone in today’s boot camp workouts.

NIGHT CLUB CARDIO AND HIP HOP HUSTLE: These classes are SO FUN! They combine the feeling of a night out on the town with fitness cardio. Burn up the dance floor – and calories, too! You will learn lots of moves with simple easy-to-follow instruction and then you can make it your own. The loud music, dark room and disco ball disguise the fact that you are really working out. These classes are available at 24 Hour Fitness locations. WILLPOWER AND GRACE: The newest challenge! A fusion of postures and drills, this class is the embodiment of high-energy cardiovascular mind-body workout yoga fans have been looking for. It’s a philosophical and physical full body workout that concentrates on the feet, posture and energy. You can look online for DVDs and classes. This is a wonderful strength-building workout.
