MISSION STATEMENT:

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Love Beyond all measure Dez Y came to us in May of 2021, frightened and alone and stayed with us for only a few days before going to jail. When she returned to us in September, she opened up to staff and decided to trust us to help her. Her goal was to get into treatment and work on being able to see her young son again as well as getting her GED. She got accepted into a GED program and went to treatment as planned. She came back to us after successfully completing treatment to await transitional housing opportunity. During this time, she was able to start having video calls as well as phone calls with her young son. In January she moved out and into a tiny home at Quiote Village where she continues to build a relationship with her son and hopes to find independent housing where she may be able to regain custody. She spends her time focusing on staying clean, reaching the 6-month milestone of sobriety, and becoming increasingly selfsufficient with the help and sustaining relationships in The Salvation Army.
