The computer yesterday we bought becomes out dated before its warranty period over. The first computer in the world was a room size whose power consumption could today be enough to run a small factory, eventually the present day computers are like a sub-notebook and a thumb size power device suffices a computer run for multiple hours together.

The first rail ran about 8 miles per hour speed, today half a night is enough to cross oceans due to speed in technology. We are all under the terrible awe that where it all will end. Within a sit in writing this, the earth is revolving on its orbit 66,000 miles per hour.

What we were told of healthy to our bones and muscles becomes banned food stuffs today. The present age children are under terrible dilemma to their choice. The things once considered aright become wrong and vice versa due to the speed in advancements.

Also the struggles of parents are untold, who are always seen relating the old and present age trying to restrain children from all those possible dangers.

David was once rewinding his life saying, “I was young and now old” Psalms 37:25. He was rolling back his memories recollecting that beautiful age. Not only was he looking back to his young age but also his God over the yester years. He said, “the Lord upholds.” In the following verses he goes on saying, “the Lord will not forsake His faithful ones.”

Would it be nice if there in life were a rewind press button as tape recorder has one such?

The present age and its impact increase Christian parents' anxiety that how their children preserve their Christian faith especially in the land of religious India. Perhaps the good days of their life are obsessed with the anxiety of their children's faith and responses.

Children are not only our heritage but also like lubricant who smoothens and lessens the frictions of life.

Finally, our trust is that “the Lord helps them” (Psalms 37:40).

THE MAN WITH A MISSION

(Part - 2)

F

rederick Tucker sailed to England to learn more about the Salvation Army and its operations. He was looking for William Booth and found him preaching in a Salvation Army Corps. In his first meet he was greatly stirred by William's preaching.

Soon after the meeting, Tucker met William Booth and expressed his pleasure intension of joining the Salvation Army. To his surprise, William Booth's reply was unexpected one. He said: “you are from the dangerous class” so you may not be fit to serve our people. Salvation Army's members came from the background of drugs, criminals, prostitutes, and the poorest of poor in England. But Tucker was very decisive in his will so he compelled the Fo u n d e r a b o u t h i s decision to join the Salvation Army.

William Booth said, “go and see our people and their life, then come and see me.” Tucker went to a Corps where Captain Isaac Unsworth was the Commanding Officer.

Tucker was with the people for three months and saw their suffering part of life in various ways. This made him stronger in his will. The determined Tucker went back to see the Founder and told his decision over again. This made William Booth accept Tucker's will of being part of the Army so he embraced him in the Salvation Army.

The Founder gave Tucker some sort of tests and Tucker triumphed all those tests offered by William Booth. Eventually Tucker became an officer of the Salvation Army, and William Booth made him 'major' and Tucker served in London for some times.

The enthusiastic Tucker was busy with preaching evangelism in London

travelling around various places. The high intellectual Tucker used his skills and wisdom in drafting constitutions for The Salvation Army's operations for exploring the Army operation in new countries. He pondered plan for India. Until then, The Salvation Army had commenced its works only in nominal Christian states. But Tucker put his fingers on the key factor in invading a non-Christians one. Also he shared his desire of exploring gospel to India with the Founder. He explained his plan to begin the work in India.

William Booth said: “get into the skins of Indians if you want to influence the Indians then” Also William Booth said, “it would be an approach for different from that of the mission stations which the major denominations had dotted across the Indian Subcontinent”.

The Exeter Hall was becoming a popular venue for Salvation Army special meetings.

On December 1881 Tucker made a plea for India. For these times William Booth received a letter from India, stating for the Salvation Army’s work in India. The letter carried no name but it might well have been Mr. William Gladwin from Bombay.

Major Tucker made his plan for the Indian expedition. He made announcement in London newspapers and also Salvation Army publications. William Booth decided that Tucker should at least have some experiences in running a typical London Corps. So he appointed him at Camberwell and told him to select one or two officers who could be prepared for the invasion of India. Captain Henry Bullard and Lieutenant Arthur Norman were appointed to Camberwell immediately.

Bullard was a cornet player and Norman was a drummer. Tucker made publicity through the War cry that read, “Wanted for India, A TENT TO HOLD 1000 OR

MORE PEOPLE, also need the following items: Cornets, kettle-drums, Brass Instruments, Tambourines, Guitars, Euphonium, we would like the honour of sending such instruments to India. Send the materials to Headquarters. Also Tucker received a small help from his friends and masters who then lived in London.

The Official dedication of the pioneer party was conducted on 27 July 1882 by William and Catherine Booth. Mrs. Booth presented the Army flag to Tucker to the first Indian Division. Finally the team was selected: Major and Mrs Tucker, Captain Henry Bullard, Lieutenants Arthur Norman and Mary Thomson and sister Jennings.

The team came to P & O. S. S. Ancona for a three weeks voyage. Very surprisingly the Salvationists were allowed to hold meetings on board twice a day and at Gibraltar they went ashore for a street meeting. Daily they got time to Bible studies and learning Hindustani songs and Urdu language. On their way sister Jennings became ill and Mrs. Tucker escorted her back to England. This left the three men and one woman who were to take India by storm.

BOUNDLESS CONGRESS - GUJARAT Anand, iwt

T

he Boundless Congress 2015 was celebrated in Gujarat from 17th to 19th September at Booth Tucker Nagar, Anand. The Territorial Commander Commissioner M. C. James inaugurated the congress by lightening candle. Following are the major events focused: - Seminar for Young People (day 1) - Seminar for Local Officers (day 2) - Public Congress Celebrations (day3) The evenings of every day was organized with public meeting in a pandal, a stage specially arranged. On 17th September, 840 youths were registered for the youth seminar. The Temple Corps from Ahmedabad arranged food for all delegates. Commissioner M C. James, Territorial Commander conducted Bible study for the youth. He shared about the life of Daniel. He challenged the youth with exemplary life of Daniel. Also for youth seminar the following subjects were focused: Use and misuse of technology, Youth and Social Issues, and Youth in the ministry of God that were facilitated by Mr. Mukesh Mecwan, Major Jashi Christi, and Lieut- Colonel Joginder Masih, CS. 16 young people from various divisions shared their first of its kind experiences of the youth seminar.

Public meeting on the same day at 7 in the evening was performed at Fuajabad compound. Officers, Salvationists, and friends of the Army were gathered. The commissioner delivered message from gospel of John 3:16-21 who explained the spiritual truth behind the Army's seventh doctrine that in detail about repentance towards God, faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

The second day, 18 September was a special day for Gujarati speaking Local Officers which was commenced with devotion by

150 balloons are to be flown to the sky

Lieut-Colonel Nicolas Damor. Hebron Corps of Anand division took the responsibility of the day's food. 450 local officers were gathered across the state. The commissioner described the duties, responsibilities and spiritual qualities of a local officer based on the 3rd chapter of 1Timothy.

Commissioner Susama James, TPWM took a subject on the Role of Women in the Church. Commissioner gave examples from the life of Catharine Booth and few other great personalities.

The evening public meeting on the day was another spiritual beauty wherein the commissioner spoke from Matthew 5: 1 -12, explaining “Blessed are those who poor in Spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.”

The third day, on 19th September was a remarkable day. The celebrations were started with the flag hoisting at the English Medium School, Anand at 8:30 in the morning. Salvationists and students from various places were gathered in the school premises. The commissioner with chief secretary hoisted the Army banner and flew away 150 balloons to the sky (pictured) which was followed by the respect to the Army banner.

Following this, a grand march past with a huge cheers of Salvationists was performed which started from the school compound. The morning session of the day was started with Commissioner M. C. James' bible study about “the Salvation Army yesterday, today, and tomorrow.” The commissioner explained about the great legacy of the Army pioneering.

In the afternoon the public meeting was started at 02.30 pm. The guest speakers, Rev. Amin Vinfred and Rev. Yohan Christian of the Methodist and CNI Churches addressed the Salvationists. The warm young people across divisions made the evening beautiful by their various cultural items.

At last, the congress banquet was special on the last day in which more than 2000 people in fellowship sat and ate the congress meal. Lieut-Colonels R. D. Kale, Surash Pawar, Benjamin Randive, K. K. Parmar, Nicolas Damor, Major Emmanuel Masih, and other Gujarati speaking senior officers were the part of the congress.

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMMES - INT NEW DELHI / int

N

ew Community Empowerment Programmes were commenced in Jai Hind Camp, Masoordpur, and Vasant Kunj areas in New Delhi including children, youth, men and women about hundred and twenty people from Jai Hind Camp were gathered in a meeting hall at about at 3 p.m on 26 August 2015.

The meeting was started with the words of welcome by Mr. Waris Masih. He presented and introduced the Salvation Army and the work thereof to the community. Earlier, Colonels Wilfred Varughese & Prema Varughese, Leaders of the Territory and the team of officers came from headquarters were welcomed.

Dr. Issac G. Masih, explained the goal and objectives of the project to the community and also he thanked the leaders for the commencement of the project in the community.

Colonel Prema Varughese, TPWM motivated the community saying that the dream for Jai Hind Camp came today true. She quoted former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's saying “until our children and women are not empowered our country is not developed.”

Mr. Mintu Islam, Leader of the community thanked the Salvation Army for their ongoing presence in the community. Colonel Wilfred Varughese, Territorial Commander addressed the community explaining how the Army since its inception serves thousands of communities around the world. He described the Army's fourfold motto: Evangelism, Social, Health, and Education.

He further encouraged saying “we are from different religion and

faith but we are all brothers and sisters. God loves us. We are serving the community because of the love of God.” At the end of the meeting territorial commander offered dedicatory prayer for the work to be commenced. Everyone who attended the meeting was glad of this new work started in the community.

SILVER STAR MOTHERS MEET AT ELURU ELURU/ict

S

ilver & Gold Star parents' get together was held at Eluru on 15th August 2015 under the leadership of Colonel Mallika Moni, TPWM. Around fifty parents in full of spirit gathered together. Many of them shared their inspiring testimonies. They also recollected the memories how their officers children were dedicated to the service of God in the Salvation Army. In this meeting TPWM preached from Matthew 20: 22-28. Many are blessed through the message and rededicated their lives to God. Mementos with Bible verses were presented to each parent and this meeting was closed by the prayer of Lieut- Colonel Ruth Mahida, TSWM.

F

or every time we love to sing “Joy, Joy, Joy, there is joy in the Salvation Army.” But I am not sure how much we sing this song with the joy real in heart. I wish to say this time I am there one among those privileged in rejoicing and experiencing this joy true to my heart.

I was there in the Army's Boundless as a blessed boy to attend the congress in London. At first it was a hectic situation for me.

Being an Engineering graduate it was tough time for me to undergo the process of visa to England. I was to be out of this great team but God paved the way for me it finally succeeded in my favour.

Beforehand, one among the 26 from my territory team, in my little knowledge I thought of enjoying the sight of London with my friends. I was the one who was small in the team.

Some instructions were given about wearing army uniform, and travelling, etc. I felt great and glad of going for the first time with the uniform out of my home to the homeland of the Army.

We got a eleven hours of journey safely we arrived at London. God's presence was with us throughout the journey. Starting from the first session till the last God's power and his mercy surrounded me. Each item in the boundless made me joyful. To see all peoples from 126 and sharing our faith and gifts, taking pictures with people was a great experience. Also it

was a privilege for me to surrendering and taking oath in the presence of God. When I back to India sadly a surprise awaited me that I can't continue in the same company where I worked formerly. But it was my Lord who stunned me with his lavish of mercy, had already prepared lots of offers to the best of my capacity with handsome salary which I never expected.

Whilst I write this for the war cry I am severely ill. But I have faith on God who is my great physician who accompanies me and I will go to my work. The bible says “Believe in the lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). I have resolved that I will live out to lift Jesus name up and the Army's respect to go on wherever I am placed in his mercy.

ime of smart phones! The new generation is obsessive to various Smart phones' operating methods like Android’s Jelly Bean, Lollipop, KitKat etc. Beyond the communication to a distant friend, these smart phones are becoming an unavoidable part of our daily life. The world is now being in a nutshell in the hands by Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.

While you are reading this, you may have a smart phone in your hands. I presume 90% of the new generation are frequent in using phone and of the 50% or more than that use smart phones. It is unnecessary to explain the details of smart phone as you are custodians and consumers of those benefits of Smart phones. In this aspect, I would ask some of the important questions.

While you are using a smart phone, is it helping you to become smarter in your Social communication? How do you feel about your Smartness in your personality?

Are you a person likes to become smarter?

All of us including you and me long to be smarter than everything. Often the life circumstances, problems, tensions, sickness draw us back from the pursuit of becoming smarter every while. To an extent, Smart phones are helpful to keep us informed of news, knowledge, stories, warnings, reminders, world happenings, people, places, and even better elements of entertainments in our lives. Despite, an increased amount of new generation is tragically prone to get addicted to various crimes and abuses. This shows the Smart phone is not all that smart.

Why not a Smart phone could make you smart? What is the fact that makes us smart?

The studies prove that even though Smart phone is a boon for communication, it also a lag to our brain setup. For calculations, storing information, recollecting, sharing and communication smart phones are very useful but at the same time it reduces our creativity, memorizing power and the genuine communication skills. It is also to be reminded that the radiation inflects produced by mobile phones are harmful to our system.

Yes, smart phone is not that smart always / anymore.

It is a fact that the new discoveries led human life to its apez. Now the internet and 3G, 4G, and now reaches 5G technologies and along with this our speed of life also increases, now the cities and villages are getting ready to hope for a digital technology called 'Digital India'. We have also entered to an era of smartphone leaving behind the old mobile phones.

God knows our emotions. He has even counted our hairs. And we are created as 'Smart Products' by his hands. Our smartness get declines when our thoughts go off to him.

The Apostles remind us that “the mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace” (Romans 8:6). The proverbs instruct us that “Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them” (Proverbs 4:5). Yes, the word of god is living word. When we grow in the word of god, He will give us back the honour that makes you smarter and that is HIS promise.

Champion among challenges THE SALVATION ARMY, HOME & SCHOOL FOR THE CHILDREN OF SPEECH AND HEARING IMPAIRED About the School for the deaf & dumb

O

n 1st April 1972 Darjeeling District wrote a new chapter in the field of education. Brigadier V. Page started a school for the children of speech and hearing impaired in Kalimpong, West Bengal. The school was started with just one trained teacher, Mr. Solon Karthak who began his work with two deaf children. Soon after this, students from Bhutan, Nepal and Sikkim rushed for admission. Sadly, there was no space to house children who came for seeking admission and the school was run in a rented house.

After a period of 8 years, on 14 May 1980, the school was shifted from Kalimpong to its present location - Erin House, 3 Colinton Road (Now Gandhi Road), Darjeeling. The shifting was done solely for the betterment and benefit of the children of speech & hearing impaired. On 12 October 1984 the new buildings were dedicated by Commissioner Ernest Yendell, International Secretary for South Asia Zone.

The aim of the Home and School for the Deaf is to develop every child mentally, physically, socially and spiritually. The institution was struggling for its survival for a long time due to lack of sponsorship. Since 1981, the year which was declared as "Disable Year" the institution had been seeking the help of West Bengal Government. After a long and thorough process of investigation finally in 1996 the Government of West Bengal declared the Institution as a Government Aided School. Many have dedicated their life to the service of this institution.

Presently Captain Jerry has taken the leadership of the institution.

It has 64 students who are of different religions and from various states: West Bengal, Sikkirii, Bihar, Assam and Nepal. What makes this institution glad is that many of its former students are now living across India and Nepal doing better on their own. We thank God for all he is doing for this institution's growth.

Sanjana Gurung of Class 4 It was my uncle who brought me here to this school. First he came to know about the Salvation Army and of this special school. I am thankful to the Salvation Army because this school changed my life. It started nice and did good in my life. I understood hope of my future, it will be ok. After I came here I learnt how important education is to me and how important I am to children like me.

I have been here for 12 years. My father was once Head Master of this school. Only the people who are having special calling can work in this school. It was my commitment that compelled me work here for these special kids. For many years ago I took this decision and now I learnt I was not wrong in my decision, it's been a good profession to which God has called me working for these differently abled children. It is a great feeling of contentment in life. It is all the Salvation Army that made a big difference in these children. A great deal of skills, place, people, and funds are invested here to champion among many challenges.

FREE CLINIC WAS LAUNCHED AT FATAPUKUR FATAPUKUR / iet

W

ith the prayer of Lieut-Colonel Mariamma Davidson, TSWM, an eight members team of the Salvation Army Medical Fellowship proceeded on road to Guwahati on 13 August 2015. On the following day the team arrived at Guwahati at around 4:30 early in the morning. It again proceed to Fatapukur by train and arrived same day in the evening, Captain Lalrinpuia, Corps Officer received the team at the railway station.

The next day on 15 August 2015 the team conducted free clinic at Saogaon Society which is about 50 k.m. from Fatapukur where the team was stationed. The people in this region are predominantly labours of tea gardens who for their livelihood earn little by daily wages. They have many health challenges whose

poor economic condition does not allow them to go for modern hospitals for their health issues.

This team served to 197 people who were found in various health problems. They received medical help without any discrimination, free checkup and were given free medicines also. Some were referred to nearby hospitals.

On Sunday 16 August Holiness meeting was conducted at Fatapukur led by Captain Lalrinpuia, and Bible message was given

by Lieut- Colonel Lalhlimpuii, Secretary to SAMF (Salvation Army Medical Fellowship). Each of the SAMF members took part in the meeting.

The meeting was really moved and blessed by the Holy Spirit.

After the meeting free clinic was again started in the corps. About 20 members came and received medical checkup and free medicines.

For this camp the expense of `. 20,000/- towards medicine was met by the Himalaya Division whereas the travelling expenses were met by the contribution of the SAMF members and Donations from Salvationists. Each member in the team gave their expenditure for the food during this program. Through this program many poor people were blessed physically, mentally and spiritually. The team also was privileged and blessed in serving the people.

CLIMATE CHANGES - CHURCH LEADERS GATHERED IN DISCUSSION Kanyakumari/iset

A

workshop gathered Church Leaders in South India at Kanyakumari together to discuss about Climate Changes which was held at Bishop Selvamony Retreat Centre, Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu during 25 and 26 of August 2015.

The theme of the workshop was “Caring for Creation.� 60 South Indian Church Leaders were participated and eleven selected Officers represented the Salvation Army from India South Eastern Territory.

The Workshop was organized by Mr Sadhu Vetharaj, Director of Association for Integrated Rural Development, Vallioor. The following subjects were taught by Mr Mong, Manipur. In this meeting an in-depth discussion about climate change happened.

Video Clips, Discussions and Interactions were other important remarks about this workshop. The two days seminar made a great impact on the eleven officers to gain a wider insight about the most stunning threat of climate change.

INCREDIBLE REVIVAL AT KELKANG MIZORAM KELKANG / iet

T

he commitment and dedication of the people of Kelkang village is praiseworthy to have a greater revival in the whole of Mizoram churches happened. As prayer warriors in Mizoram from different locations continued praying for a revival in the churches of Mizoram the spirit of God started working so.

The revival covering the whole of the churches in Mizoram started from Kelkang village which has only 250 houses in the location of Champhai District in Mizoram.

Thousands including from overseas gathered together in prayer and praising God, It is roughly recorded more than 2.5 lakhs people prayed and praised God for this revival to happen. People of various sickness were healed and changes in lives were witnessed.

'RIGHT AT THE HEART' CONFERENCE FOR CHILDREN'S AND YOUTH LEADERS EMPHASISES IMPORTANCE OF MINISTRY TO YOUNG PEOPLE they are welcome, safe and secure – and that the message of Jesus calling children to be disciples is still one that young people should know and experience.

The fact that the General and Commissioner Silvia Cox (World President of Women's Ministries) visited the conference twice, joined by senior leaders from International Headquarters, the delegates of ‘right at the heart’ with General and WPWM served to highlight the priority that should be given to work with young 16 September 2015 people and children in the life of The Salvation Army.

Among many highlights of the practical sessions was the opportunity for everyone to experience 'Godly play' – a storytelling tool that enables children to have a greater understanding of faith.

Moments of sharing, singing and prayer – and significant teaching from eminent speakers – served to provide training and resources for the leaders to impact the work that is being done in their own territories, benefitting many thousands of children around the world.

SEMINAR ON SPIRITUAL GROWTH FOR WOMEN BAPATLA / ict

F

or women, a day seminar emphasizing spiritual growth was conducted at Tissot Training Centre Bapatla during 21 and 22 August 2015. Colonel Mallika Mony, TPWM with her team of headquarters officers went to conduct this seminar.

The seminar was commenced with the inaugural ceremony led by Lieut-Colonel Ruth Mahida, TSWM, in which Colonel Mallika Mony gave key note address, explaining the spirituality and its necessity in the lives of women. After the lecture they divided in to five groups for group prayers.

The second day was begun with the devotion conducted by the TPWM whose message inspired the officers. She emphasized the blessing of meditating the word of God. She explained how the word of God shapes the lives of people.

Lieut-Colonel Usha Rani, Territorial Senior Home League Secretary spoke about spiritual life foundations. She explained the basics of the foundations required to live a faithful life. She explained the need for such foundation where the spirituality plays important role in God's sight. Another important lecture given by Lieut-Colonel D. Leelamani, Territorial Junior Home League Secretary about prayer which is a key weapon growing in spiritual life.

The TPWM spoke on “Women's faith & fellowship in community� gave an insight about understanding the faith based relationship in communities, and how that can build a valuable and long standing relationship.

After her message the delegates were divided in to five groups for group discussions who were given three subjects: Personal spiritual life, Spiritual life in family, and Spiritual life in community for discussion. After this, reflections from each group was invited, this brought many useful ideas to practice in personal and community spiritual life.

In the final session, spiritual fellowship meeting was chaired by Colonel Mallika Moni, TPWM. She spoke on 1 Peter 2:1-3. Many of the delegates shared their testimonies and about 50 women rededicated their lives. The meeting was closed with prayers and benediction.

MERITORIOUS STUDENTS HONOURED Colonel Edwin Masih, Territorial Commander came to address the meritorious students with his message. He spoke from Psalm 30 and blessed the students. Colonel Sumita Masih gave away Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and handed over a monetary aid to the students.

The retired Commissioners M. Y. Emmanuel and Regina Chandra Bai, teachers, parents, headquarters officers, divisional commanders, and cabinet secretaries were the part of the day's events.

day has been set apart in New Delhi Citadel Corps to have spiritual fellowship every month. The Corps Officer and the Local Officers of the corps decided to make it happen on the last Saturday of every month.

It's been planned to reflect and focus more on Prayers, Praises, and Patience during the spiritual fellowship meetings.

Accordingly, the recent meeting was graced by Major Vijay Pal Singh, Spiritual Development Secretary. The major's reflections in the meeting came from 1 Chronicles 4:9 & 10. He talked about Jabaz who was more honorable than his brethren and prayed to God not for his self or family interests but for the blessing to enlarge the borders and his hand might be with him, to keep him from evil and God granted his request. Also, in his message he encouraged the local officers of the corps to spend more time on prayers to have their successful leadership to the growth of the corps.

FREE MEDICAL CAMP REPORT – NEDUMAKAYAM COPRS, PUNALUR As the Nedumakayam corps is situated in the rural area named 'Kallumala', the camp was absolutely useful to the poor people of these communities especially for many old people. There were 130 people who were benefitted by the camp through free check up of blood sugar, BP and free distribution of medicines.

The service of DDRC staff (Doctors Diagnostic Research Center) deserves appreciations. There were 49 people who received the benefit of Cholesterol and Thyroid Function test in a low concession rate.

In the final session of the camp District Officer extended thanks to the Doctors and other members of the medical team. We praise God for the success of the camp. The Punalur District Officer made the arrangements for the camp's good work.

A team of Thiruvananthapuram Central Corps Medical fellowship members went to the camp venue. The team comprising Dr. V. J. Joseph,(Rtd. District TB Officer) Dr. Sagar (Superintendent Incharge, Mental Hospital Trivandrum), Dr. Shoba, M. S. (Surgeon, General Hospital, TVM), Dr. Pradeep (Homeo District Medical Officer, Pathanamthitta) and Nurses from Thiruvananthapuram Central Corps and Punalur central corps.

TEENS CHALLENGES and

or as many people tend to think of today's youths are tomorrow's leaders. Nevertheless, scripture does not places the youngsters in that level of category. At this present context of globalisation, many of the problems that the young world confronts are not restricted to anyone, ethnic or religious growth but horribly affect the young world in general.

Most discussions on youth world focus on issues such as drug abuse, crime, violence, sexuality, poverty, internet, entertainment, m e d i a , fu n , fe a s t , a n d e x t r e m e independent exposure to over information.

In addition, following are those few inevitable terrible contemporary challenges to which the young world is constantly yielded.

A. CHALLENGES 1.THROWN INTO CULTURAL CRISIS Firstly, cultural identity is the prime crisis in which a youth is thrown in. Parents might advice children (youth) to dress up in a way that parents believe culturally accepted or traditional way of dress up. And parents would expect the youth return back to home after college whereas the influence of friends might force them to go for 'dating' find a suitable boy / girl friend accompanied to live up to date with the world. The youth is confused - who am I? And whom should I follow? - Whether or not to follow their parents? - Who are right? – Either friends or parents? - A dilemma – Indeed a terrible mess in the young world.

2.BATTERED UNDER PRESSURES Secondly, due to the pressures from both sides they are forced to pose lack of selfesteem and self confidence. They are in a confused stage -feel worthless unexpectedly some youth might commit suicide. They do not know where they are going. A sense of hopelessness even by peer pressure the youth may be confused.

Besides, ambiguity concerning the moral issues, what is right and what is wrong?

3. EXPOSED TO MEDIA Moreover the negative impact of the electronic media ghastly hit the young world.

The elements of media entertainment take the young world regardless gender - boy or girl to get log into unwanted sites of obscenities. Mainly the Christian youths are bombarded by unwanted t.v. programmes - commercial and music billboards, video games, Facebook, WhatsApp, Wi-Fi, magazines, and newspapers. All these make them so rebellious adamant, arrogance, and disobedience.

4. CONCENTRATED COMPETITIVENESS

Finally, the problem of competitiveness - the uneven playing field, highly excel people excess in all fields - why not me? - can I be there? - can I get it? - These questions torture the youth.

B. SOLUTION

The present young world is seen getting compromised with their Christian life. Youth has to take Jesus as their role model. As per Hebrews 2:18 "For Jesus himself had gone through temptation and He can help those who goes through the same problem." Youth needs to prioritize their parent's advice 1 Samuel 15 : 22: Obedience is better than sacrifice.

Think of many Bible role models - Joseph in Genesis 39 who could save his youth with his beautiful attitude of self-control. He was rather happy to be in prison than yield to temptation whereas Daniel kept his body, mind, and soul with the spirit of perseverance who adhered to the commandments and creed. See, Stephen in New Testament who gave his life to Christ alone. Those are the youngsters of the Bible who lived an exemplary life.

Conclusively, youth, be keen on your life Listen and obey to God's word - do not stand in the midst of ungodly, do not confirm to the passion of the world (Psalms 1). Give no second thought in possessing Jesus your saviour and role model but have a second thought before getting logged into anything which is of no interest in making Jesus name famous.
