In this imaginative blend of speculative history, found footage documentary and sci-fi, two sisters in in 1940’s Britain invent a machine that can tune into radio and TV broadcasts from the future. Initially they use it to discover music from the 60’s and 70’s and make a fortune on the racetrack, but soon it become apparent that the machine, which they name Lola, can be used to give the miliary the upper hand over the Nazi’s. However, as alternative timeline paradoxes come into play, it becomes apparent that this may have catastrophic consequences. Filmed in ghostly black and white using vintage 35mm equipment, this atmospheric first feature provides a thought-provoking trip into the historical past and a haunting glimpse at an imagined future.

Without Camille Pissarro, there is no Impressionist movement. He is rightfully known as the father of Impressionism. It was a dramatic path that Pissarro followed, and throughout it all he wrote extensively to his family. It is through these intimate and revealing letters that this gripping film reveals Pissarro’s life and work. Born in the West Indies, Pissarro found his passion in paint as a young man in Paris, and by the age of 43 had corralled a group of enthusiastic artists into a new collective. Their first show was scorned by the critics, but the group had acquired a new name: the Impressionists. For the next 40 years Pissarro was the driving force behind what has today become the world’s favourite artistic movement.

A classic film from the “second golden age” of American cinema, Scorsese’s 1980 masterpiece finds the celebrated director at the height of his powers. Robert De Niro won his second Oscar for his portrayal of middleweight boxer Jake Le Motta, whose fury in the ring frequently boiled over into his troubled family life. Exhilarating boxing scenes paralleled with fiery personal exchanges, De Niro’s astonishing physical transformation and Scorsese’s cinematic virtuosity make this a real treat to savour on the big screen.

Slowly she learns to become a child again. With a captivating central performance, this moving drama explores difficult subject matter with empathy and grace.
