Interspersed with expressionist footage from the time, Cohen's artistry and creative force soars through 19 classic and features some of his most rousing and thought-provoking poetry. After a troubled post productions process, the film screened briefly in 1974, then remained unseen for decades and considered lost, until boxes of the original 16mm footage were discovered in a fragile condition. Director Tony Palmer painstakingly reconnected the film, which received rave reviews from critics and fans alike.

Memories of Murder
15, 2hrs 12mins, In Korean with subtitles
WED 18 SEP 7.00PM & FRI 20 SEP 7.00PM
The breakthrough film for Bong Joon Ho is a masterful crime thriller infused with social satire. Set in 1980s and based on Korea’s first recorded serial killer, the film follows inept detectives Park and Seo as they bungle their investigation into a series of grisly murders.
Bong’s plot weaves suspense with a sharp critique of the era’s authoritarianism, police brutality, and pervasive misogyny, seen in both the treatment of women and the failure to protect them. The stellar performances - especially Song Kang Ho in the first of many collaborations with the director, most recently Parasite - deepen the emotional tension, while the taut script blends dark humour with chilling realism.
