Organic for Dover Street, showcases inspiration derived from organic shapes and structures. The bubble texture is key when it comes to the inspiration of the collection. Dover street market focuses on a conceptual and artistically driven design base. Coexisting with the ‘beautiful chaos’ mood at the concept store. Mood of the collection revolves around key inspiration factors such as organic forms of bubble texture and contemporary artistic influences showcasing constrained organic sculptures. Through this collection I wanted to showcase a different design approach portraying a diverse and broadly spread design direction approaches. The collection featured is minimal, artistic and experimental. Shape and silhouette as mentioned above is influenced by organic structures both manmade and natural. The fluidity and rounded nature has been shown in the form of prints, seam lines, varied textures and garment shaping. Color is very monochromatic basing around the lines of titanium white, charcoal brown and ash grey. Texture showcases varied examples such as the smooth neoprene fabric, bubble texture showcased by embossed neojersey among others. The garment range is varied with coats, tops, skirts, pullovers and jumpsuits. Target market focuses on a very concept driven sector of the youth. The forward thinkers, style over trend personnel. Who is Modern and has a very androgynous style. They aren’t mainstream instead are driven by contemporary art influences and nature. Experimental by fashion and rebellion by nature.
