17. Very Rare German Bisque Miniature Doll with Unique Bisque Sculpted Hat 8" (20 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with sculpted very tall shaded brown hat that is brushstroked to suggest fur and decorated with black band, chin strap and red ornaments, with brown sculpted hair peeking at sides, painted brown eyes, black eyeliner, closed mouth, muslin body, bisque lower limbs, painted socks and black shoes, original undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1880. Value Points: very rare model, the doll is shown in Evelyn Ackerman's Dolls in Miniature, page 92, described as perhaps the only existing model and endowed with a "high state of artistic endeavor". $600/900

18. German Bisque Miniature Doll with Rare Lavender Cap 7" (18 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with sculpted purple cap having upturned edges and trimmed with black edging, darkest brown sculpted short curls, sculpted ears, painted facial features, blue eyes, muslin body, bisque lower limbs, cotton gown. Condition: generally excellent, very tiny flake at black edging may be original. Comments: Germany, circa 1880. Value Points: very rare model with exquisite detail of facial modeling, folds of bonnet, and stippling of hair. Bisque shoulder head of adult lady with slender face, sculpted darkest brown hair drawn into ringlet curls at the back, sculpted yellow bonnet decorated with black band and a large purple lustre feather, painted facial features, muslin body, bisque lower limbs, black shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, mid-1860s. Value Points: rare model with brown hair and fancy bonnet wears her original superb costume.
