379. French Bisque Character, 250, by SFBJ 22” (56 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass inset eyes, dark curly lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, slightly-parted lips with row of beaded teeth, outlined lips, dimpled chin, pierced ears, brunette mohair bobbed wig, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent, roughness around inside edge of crown rim. Marks: SFBJ 250 Paris 10. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1912. Value Points: rare model with pleasing expression, luminous patina on rosy complexion. $700/900

380. French Mechanical Toy “Little Boy Flower Seller with Pony and Cart” 16” (41 cm.) A paper mache pony with flocked-hair finish and lavish tail and mane, has amber glass eyes, harness, hinged legs, and a hidden mechanism in his torso that operates by keywind; attached to a twowheel wooden pony cart with bench seat is a bisque head doll with blue glass eyes, closed mouth, carton body, metal hands, wearing original cotton costume. The cart is filled with baskets of flowers which the boy appears to be rushing to the town market. When wound, the horse bucks up and down, trotting along in a humorous manner. Excellent condition, functions well, especially attractive bisque doll. French, circa 1890. $1500/1900
