The firm-sided “valise” with soft kidskin tan cover hinges open at the center top and folds down at each side to reveal the paper-lined interior, having silk-wrapped handles, decorated lavishly with tarnished brass studs overall, and with applied name “Boissier” in art nouveau lettering. The valise originally served as a luxury candy box, and is suitably sized for display with bébés. French, circa 1890, the famed Parisian chocolatier, on the Avenue Victor Hugo was founded in 1827, and was noted for luxurious presentation of their candies. $300/500
