The village is a close-knit community and as such, has many social activities available to residents.
A mother and toddler group meet at the memorial village hall, as do the "crafty ladies" (ladies who like to do craftwork). This is also the venue for the youth club, quizzes and even a cinema. There's also the community playing field which hosts a play park and even a skateboard park.
The village has a convenience store and Post Office, as well as the Knatchbull Arms which dates back to the 17th century.
