Country Club Bowls Section News Letter February 2012 The club has made an excellent start to the year, with a good turn out of members for ‘tabs in’ and competition days. It has been very good to welcome several visitors from far and near to play over the last weeks which has added to our enjoyment and interest. Our greens have been a pleasure to play on, though the North green is still in need of attention. We began our competitive season with a ‘tabs in’ afternoon sponsored by Personal Trust. Our thanks as always to Johann van der Westhuizen acting on their behalf. Prizes were won by Fred Broderick, John Mc Mahon, Sue Broodryk, Nita Davis and Robin James, with John Jerome winning a gift box for the lucky draw for a lead, Mike Dietrich for second, Jenny Stevenson for a third and Deon Hugo for a skip. Sea horse was won by Lou Mallam followed by Rod Nimmo, Fiona Woods and Steve Rado. Our thanks to Rod and Reel, Island Diner, Look Out Deck, River Cafe and Scotty’s for their

sponsorship again this year. The Total B. I. Trips was won by the team of Ulti Broodryk, Mike Dietrich and Brenda Duffus. Congratulations to all winners and our thanks to Robbie and Sue at Total B. I. Forth coming Attractions: Our Twilight Bowls evening had to be cancelled on the 17th February but is rescheduled for 2nd March. So diarize this and: Seahorse 6/3/2012 Total B. I. Club ladies and Gentleman’s Singles Championships: Entries close 21/2/2012 and play begins on 22/2/2012 Our coaches are on hand every Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. for an hour so come along and try something new.
