Mr. Deontae DeJuan Thomas Sr.

Deontae De’Juan Thomas, Sr. was born on February 8,1992, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Donald W. Thomas and Cynthia D. Viney.

Deontae attended the Oklahoma City Public Schools, where he played basketball and lead the Star Spencer Bobcats to a State Championship in 2008, where he named MVP. Deontae also attended Metro Technology and took up Paint and Auto Mechanics. In 2010, Deontae graduated from Star Spencer High School, and went on to attend Northern Oklahoma College in Enid, Oklahoma. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age by his grandfather, the Rev. Johnny B. Wallace, Sr., pastor of the Praise of Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Along the way Deontae acquired and mastered many skills including truck driving, roofing, and auto-mechanics, to name a few. His love for horses and country life was so strong that the family moved to Spencer, Oklahoma.

There was nothing with wheels that he could not drive.

He was always well-dressed, and always smelled so good. He had an infectious smile that would light up any place he entered. His charisma and stature drew people to him, and this made him very well loved and liked by all his family and friends.

Deontae is the father of three young Kings. Deontae was so excited to be the father of Deontae Jr, Loyal and Cairo. He enjoyed spending time with these little fellas and looked forward to teaching them how to play a variety of sports, driving, hunting and all the benefits and joys that come with being a devoted father.

Deontae had an inseparable relationship with his sister, DawnYale D. Shaw.

They were more than brother and sister; they were best friends, always looking out for each other. Deontae was a loving uncle to his nephew, Keshaun and niece, Leightyn (Ladybug). They had a special place in his heart.

Deontae was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Paternal, Amos A. Thomas and Maternal, Joseph C Viney Sr.; uncles, Clarence Lewis Sr., Donald Lewis, Sr. and Chris Thomas. Two cousins Clarence Lewis Jr. and Jaylen Lewis Deontae’s life will be celebrated and remembered by his loving mother, Cynthia D. Viney and his father, Donald W. Thomas; his Maternal Grandparents: Reverend J.B. and JoAnn Wallace, his Paternal Grandmother, Bobbie Thomas, his sister, DawnYale D. Shaw, and four brothers: Caylen, Caydon, KeShaun and Xavier Thomas; His children, Deontae Jr., Loyal and Cairo Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

To my Brother, Deontae, Some people may not understand, but you were the man! Ever since we were small, we had it all and you sure knew how to ball! From Star Spencer to Northern Oklahoma and in the streets, you were the king of the hardwood and couldn't be beat! State tournament MVP – what a sight to see! To our mother, I was sweet like apple pie, but we both knew you were the apple of her eye! You will be missed by everyone, especially KeShaun and Leightyn; with them you had a special bond. Don't you worry about your boys! Our home is their home! There will be good times and lots of toys and noise!

My Sonshine It's hard sometimes to know why some things happen as they do, for so much Joy and Happiness was centered around you. It's so hard to comprehend that you're no longer here, but all the Happy Memories will help to keep you near; you are thought about with Pride son with each mention of your name.

When you were born, it was the happiest days of my life.

Then sadly, God took me away. Now I am in Heaven, where I must stay, but I will watch over you all and be in your heart. We’ll meet in heaven when it’s your time to depart. So be good and respectful for your mommy, and always do your best. Know that we love you and you are truly blessed. Although I am in Heaven, I will watch you each day. I know each one of you will make me proud; trust I will be there every step of the way.

To our Daddy, we wish you didn’t have to go so soon. You had so much to teach us as we grow up to be tall and strong like you.

We will make you proud with the Lord and our family’s help. You are in Heaven where you can always watch over us. We’ll love you always.

Uncle Deontae, you were the best uncle; you were always there when I needed you. I remember all the nights when we were up late watching YouTube videos, and you would ask “what you are doing still up.” You were so easy to talk too.

Love Ladybug Uncle Deontae, you were an amazing person; always down to earth and stylish. You always had the best smell goods on. You were very respectful towards me and others.

Love KeShaun Deontae, I looked up to you. I loved your swag and the way you played basketball. My goal was to one day play better than you. I just wish we could have spent more time together. Love your little brother, Xavier Thomas
