THE NEED Amid pandemic, food pantry in dire need of donations
IS URGENT A surge in unemployment and food insecurity means that the Tri Boro Food Pantry in Park Ridge has more clients than ever. At the same time, social distancing and grocery store shortages have meant less stock on the pantry shelves than ever before. Itʼs a recipe for disaster for those who rely on the pantry to fulfill their basic needs. “The number of families we see on a weekly basis has more than doubled,” says Janelle Larghi, who runs the food pantry. “We are busier than ever and have less food than ever, which is troubling. The pantry is largely reliant on patronizing local grocery stores. With the new shopping limits set in place, we are unable to restock our shelves and
