A fatal car crash took the life of a 13-year Pitt professor. At 12:10 a.m. on June 8, George Jucha Jr.’s car collided with another vehicle on Route 22 in Washington County. According to Pitt spokesman John Fedele, Jucha had been a part-time instructor in the computer science department since 2001. According to the police report, the front bumper of another car struck Jucha’s Subaru Forester. The impact caused Jucha’s car to spin 90 degrees, and then collide with the fender of the other vehicle. State Police have not yet determined who is responsible for the crash or the speed of the vehicles at impact. The poSee Crash on page 5

Pittsburghʼs Classic Theater on the move Mark Pesto Staff Writer
Pitt’s Theatre Arts department is expanding, forcing a Pittsburgh theatre company to leave its longtime home on Pitt’s cam-
pus. The Stephen Foster Memorial, which Pitt owns and is located on Forbes Avenue across from Schenley Plaza, has hosted Pittsburgh’s Classic Theatre for the past decade, but Pitt has recently informed the
company that it will not renew the company’s lease, which expires in December, according to PICT’s artistic and executive director, Alan Stanford. See PICT on page 4
