All-America City Youth Award Application Nominate a youth leader for the 2013 All-America City Youth Award. In conjunction with the All-America City Award competition, The Herald-Tribune Media Group will accept nominations for Sarasota County’s Youth Leadership Award finalist. A local panel of community of judges will review all applications and select a representative from Sarasota County to compete for the 2013 All-America City Youth Award in Denver, Colo., June 14-16. Personal interviews may be needed. Complete this form and submit along with an essay – not to exceed one page – addressing the four points listed below by 5p.m. May 23, 2013, to bill.church@heraldtribune.com. Please include “All-America City Youth Award Submission” in the subject line. Two letters of support are encouraged but not mandatory. Eligibility Youth ages 14 to 25 from Sarasota County are invited to submit applications. All nominees must be available to fly to Denver June 13-17 (travel expenses paid). Essay Please submit a one-page, single-spaced essay that addresses: -
How the youth leader exemplifies the All-America City criteria of impact, inclusiveness, innovation, collaboration and civic engagement. How the youth leader has made an impact on the wider community (what difference did he or she make?) How the youth leader has encouraged others to get involved, undertake comparable efforts. How the youth leader demonstrates the insight and courage to collaborate across lines that usually divide people.
