Ward Scare Map: a neighbourhood Halloween house decorating contest, with some of my Big Cityyy Arts colleagues; we were the official judges and it was a tough task Tuesday’s event was informal and full of fun as South Ward residents were invited to zhuzh their porches, lawns and houses with the categoriesSpookiest, Most Festive and Most Clowns - in mind.

The organiser, Tiffany Martin, has created a terrific and terrifying contest which delights locals, and the people who visit to trickor-treat in the area to check out the spooky scenes; these kinds of community organised events are always the ones that last and grow, and we’re already on tenterhooks for next year’s South Ward Scare Map entries and energies. Congratulations to the organisers and all the winners, extra shout out to the Most Festive winners: Payge and Caleombh (pictured in the dragon costume) for really bringing the playful spirit of the season!
