S P O RT S PDHS Girls Volleyball: Panthers compete with top teams during exciting games this week Paris Panthers Report with George Le Gresley

Junior Girls Volleyball Paris was facing a big challenge facing the 1st place BCI side. Game 1 the Panthers took the lead halfway through the game at 1615 and never gave up the lead to win the game 25-19. Game 2 belonged to BCI, leading the entire game with a score of 25-16. Game 3, BCI wins. The Panthers were fighting hard to compete, coming close to tying the game at 19-20, but faded at the end losing 25-2, falling behind on games 2-1. Paris on the verge of losing the match, came out roaring, scoring 12 consecutive points on Coulter Cahoon’s serves and a 14-2 lead. BCI came back from such a big deficit tying the score at 24, but the Panther girls rallied to close out the game 26-24. Game 5, the 15 point tie breaker game, had BCI winning the toss and serving first, won the game 15-10 to seal the match win. There’s an old saying that you can learn more from a loss than a win but, there’s no doubt they will have learned a few lessons in what

turned out to be a great performance.

Senior Girls Volleyball The first game the Panthers started out with a 13-12 lead but faded for the next 8 points until catching up to BCI with a 21-21 tie. From that point, Paris took and held onto the lead to win Game 1, 25-23. During game 2 the Paris ladies led the entire game leading to a win, again by a two point margin 25-23. In game 3 it was another seesaw battle with the final score of 25-23 for a BCI win. Game 4, with the Paris Girls trailing all game, they ended up losing 25-17. Game 5, the 15 point tie breaking game, started being a close one until the score was 5-5. At that point, the Panther senior team took the lead at 7-6 and increased their lead with 7 winning serves by Lauren Cohoon, to close out a match final a 15-6
