Grab some noise-makers and come out and support Paris teams as they host annual Ringette Tournament next weekend

If you’re looking for a familyfriendly event next weekend on Family Day weekend, bundle up, grab your noise makers and make your way to the Brant Sports Complex for a weekend of fastpaced Ringette fun.
The Paris Ringette Association will welcome nearly 50 teams from across Ontario to their annual Ringette Tournament February 1518. Teams from all age categories, Fun3/U10 to U19B and open divisions, will hit the ice to compete and if you’ve ever wondered what the game is all about, take a seat and enjoy as you learn what this team-sport is all about.
“Ringette is such an amazing sport to watch. It is a fast-pace game where teamwork is essential,” explains Paris Ringette Association President Jen Mayhew. “We have many volunteers helping out during our tournament weekend, our PRA families are volunteering to make this a very exciting event ”
It’s the association’s biggest fundraiser of the season for the Association; it helps keep registration fees down for PRA families, but it also brings lots of extra revenue to local businesses (hospitality industry for example).
“We host silent auctions, 50/50 draws, candy tables, toonie toss and tons of raffles. All of these would not be doable without our volunteers and donated items,” said Courtney Boehmer, PRA communications.

The Paris Ringette Association’s U19A team competed at the Richmond Hill Tournament last weekend where they finished round robin play with 2 wins and 2 losses. They advanced to the gold medal game and faced a tough Timmins team. The girls played hard but couldn’t overcome Timmins, bringing home Silver medals.
