MERRILYN GLEN JOHNSON
WESTVILLE, IN - Merrilyn Glen
Johnson, 59, died Sunday, November 2, 2025 in Michigan City, Indiana. He was born March 30, 1966 in Knox, Indiana, to the late Donald and Judy(Hurd) Johnson.
Glen enjoyed sports and watching his favorite the Cincinnati Bengals. He also enjoyed fishing. His greatest passion was spending time with his family.
He is survived by three grandchildren, two brothers: Alex Johnson of Westville and Donald Johnson of Knox and three sisters: June Johnson of Crown Point, Indiana, Donna Tharpe of Monticello, Indiana and Rosemary Johnson of Laporte, Indiana, He was preceded in death by his daughter Carrie Shidler and sister Judy Carol Smith.
Graveside services were held at Highland Cemetery in North Judson, Indiana on Wednesday, November 5. Memorials may be made to the family.
Arrangements were made by Braman & Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson.
KAREN ANN ALLEN
WINAMAC, IN - Karen Ann (Foerg) Allen, 69, died Tuesday, October 28, 2025 after battling an aggressive brain tumor. She was born January 18, 1956 to the late Eugene and Nancy (Moore) Foerg. On October 11, 1975 in Knox Indiana, she married Ricky Allen. Karen graduated from Winamac Community High School in 1974 and attended Bible Baptist College in Springfield, MO. While Karen held several jobs over the years, she was most proud of the 33 years she worked as a Teacher’s Aide at the Governor Morehead School for the Blind in Raleigh, NC. Following divorce and retirement, Karen returned to Winamac in 2018 to be closer to her siblings. She enjoyed raising plants, crocheting, and quilting. She completed numerous jigsaw puzzles which she framed and hung on the walls as beautiful pieces of art. She also enjoyed being outdoors, especially working in the yard and sitting on the porch visiting with family or friends. Most of all she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and siblings. Church was very important to her, and she faithfully served the Lord throughout her life. She always had a willing heart to help others in need whether they were friends or family. Karen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children: Benjamin (Glory) Allen, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Melissa (Clint) Stanley, Pilot Mountain, North Carolina, four grandchildren and siblings: Raymond (Julie) Foerg, Winamac, Parish (Tasha) Foerg, Buckeye, Arizona, Linda (Darl) Fritz, Winamac, Mary (Jim) Fishburn, Winamac and Sandi (Jim) Mohler, Litchfield, Ohio and her former husband, Ricky Allen, Pilot Mountain. She was preceded in death by grandparents: Harley and Ellen (Riggs) Moore, Andrew and Laura (Crist) Foerg, Visitation will be from 11 AM – 1 PM EST Saturday, November 15, at Frain Mortuary with a memorial service starting at 1pm EST. VICKY HINKLE
LOGANSPORT, IN - Vicky Hinkle, 70, died at home on Saturday, November 1, 2025. She was born on August 26, 1955 in Knox, Indiana to the late James and Aletha (Clark) Solomon. On
August 24, 1974, she married Jan Hinkle in Logansport.
Vicky graduated from Pioneer High School in 1973. She worked at the Indiana State Hospital in Logansport, retiring as a housekeeping supervisor. She enjoyed crocheting and reading as well as making friends at the Senior Center in Logansport. Most of all she, cherished spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter as well her great nephews who knew her as “Vicky Grandma”.
She is survived by her children: Jessica Hinkle, Joseph (Tamra Ludlow) Hinkle, James Hinkle all of Lafayette, Indiana and Lisa (Eli) Van Es, Logansport and former husband Jan Hinkle of Logansport. She was preceded in death by: siblings: Debora Craft and Robin Solomon.

TERRY R. TERRILL
KNOX, IN - Terry R. Terrill, 74, died Tuesday, November 3, 2025. He was born June 23, 1951 in Hammond, Indiana to the late John W. Terrill and Virginia Quick Terrill. Terry enjoyed doing things outdoors including: snowmobiling, boating, golf and camping. He also loved reading about and studying things to do with the Civil War and World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Terrill, a sister, Elizabeth Terrill of Minnesota and a brother, John Terrill of Chesterton, Indiana. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.
JOSEPH JOHN PENSKA JR.
WINAMAC, IN - Joseph John “Joe” Penksa, 86, died at his home on Friday, November 7, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1939 in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph John and Elizabeth Mary (Boksa) Penksa. He married Mary Agnes Zehner on October 9, 1965, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monterey, Indiana.
Joe graduated from Monterey High School with the class of 1957. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS New Jersey and then in the Navy Reserves. He worked hard throughout his life and retired from Dean’s Foods in Rochester, IN. He was a lifelong member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe was also a member of the Monterey American Legion Post #399. He was a talented woodworker and an avid numismatist. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop, especially stripping wires. Joe completed numerous puzzles over the years. Most of all, Joe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Agnes, four daughters: Debra Sue (Stephen) Hinkleman, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Brenda Lee (RB) Walters of Monterey, Sandra Jean (Troy) Hartz of Grand Junction, Colorado and Cynthia Marie Lewis of Winamac, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one Infant granddaughter and one sister, Christine M. “Chris” Fox. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM EST Thursday, November 13, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Monterey. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 AM EST Thursday, November 13, 2025 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church Rev. Anthony Rowland officiating. Burial will take place at St. Anne’s Cemetery
in Monterey, IN. Memorials may be made to St. Anne’s Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
DONALD GENE HARRDON-FISHER
KNOX, IN - Donald Gene Harradon-Fisher, 62, died at his home on November 9, 2025. He was born December 22, 1962 in Knox, Indiana to the late Marjorie Fisher and the late Jerry Lynn Harradon. On June 26, 1982 he married Kathy Sue Hicks.
Donny loved being with his grandchildren and children, he also loved fishing, guitars, listening to music, old muscle cars and his antiques. Donny had a big heart and would to anything to help anyone. He loved his social time at the VFW and the American Legion, having Jim Beam shooters and flirting with the ladies. He was an active member of the Sons of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, three daughters: Shantel Sturgeon, CaSandra Dickman (Walter), and Alisha Jones (Billy), and a son, Franklin Harradon (Kristin), three sisters, Darlene Gibson (Doug), Carrie Murphy (Steve) and Michelle Harradon-Norton (Lovina) and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, William Jones III, a brother, Jody Harradon and step-mother, Judith Harradon. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 3pm (CT) with visitation three hours prior to services, at M.C. Smith Funeral Home. A dinner will follow at the VFW Post 748 in Knox. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
