Waste Treatment System Upgrade %\ 7(' '(1721 0D\RU RI 5RFKHVWHU Today I would like to update everyone on project number one from the City Projects Room. It is the upgrade to the Waste Treatment System 0$<25 7(' located on '(1721 Monticello Road. This is where the waste from the city is received, processed and disposed of. The department head of the Waste Treatment Plant is Marcus Halterman. Back in May 2021, the year-and-a-half project started with the engineering evaluation, design and financial estimate of what the project would cost. Next, the financial backing was obtained by negotiating with the State Revolving Fund Loans Department, which loans monies to cities for worthy projects. We were successful in negotiating a 1.5% twenty-year loan for $7.5 million dollars to fund the project. We negotiated the loan down from 3% (the going rate at the time) to the 1.5%, saving millions. After the contract was bid and awarded to Crosby Construction, the project was divided into nine pieces with very specific items in each group needed to complete the total upgrade. These pieces were numbered one through nine and placed on a Gannt chart. A Gannt chart is a working document that allows all involved to see the progress of each task laid out on a

The festival is held in the Liberty Twp. Park on Aitken Street east of the caution light on SR 25 — north end of Fulton. Craft Vendors may set up for free, but donations are always appreciated. Vendors will need to bring a tent cover and tables as you will be outside in the grass on the south end of the Park. There will be a flagged stake with your number assigned after you apply. Setup time is 8:00 - 10:00. Please be aware there is a 5K at this time. Entry into Fulton will close around 11:30 due to the Parade. East of the Park Entrance there are 2 entrances - watch for a pink sign. Drive around both ball fields to the vendor area to unload, then park south of the softball field leaving space at the fence for those attending the afternoon tournament. Gerry Grossman, ‘The Human Jukebox,’ performs July 3 Gerry Grossman, “The Human Jukebox,” will perform from 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3, in Akron’s Pike Memorial Park as part of its Fourth of July Festival. Grossman’s sobriquet, “The Human Jukebox,” comes from his ability to recall countless old rock and roll hits. His performances are unique experiences, each tailored to audience involvement and requests. He has performed with a long list of show business legends, including John Denver, The Byrds, The Turtles, The Lovin’ Spoonful, Johnny Rivers, Tammy Wynette, Foreigner, Richard Lewis, The Temptations and many more. Grossman spent years touring for the National Coffee House Circuit, followed by tours of all kinds, including rock clubs, comedy clubs, festivals, corporate shows, private shows and casinos. He has written and starred in two PBS local specials, written and recorded four singles and one album and he continues to play venues of all kinds, with an emphasis on casino shows. He recently concluded a run at Chicago’s Greenhouse Theater, “Human Jukebox Reloaded”.
