“Even if you don’t like trains, there is something for everyone. Things for kids, the ladies and we have great food available,” said Forman.

The event is being held at the Miami County Fairgrounds in the 4-H Project building, 1029 W 200 N., Peru. Parking is free. The cost is $3 for adults and children five and under are free. The maximum family price is $10. The show is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Police Reports Miami County Sheriff ’s Department October 15 Officers responded to the area of 42014 Hamilton CT, Peru in reference to a report of yelling and screaming from across the court but the complainant could not provide an exact address. Checked multiple residences and was unable to locate the source of the concerning noise.

A Peru Community Schools bus slid off the roadway at S Fox Hill Road and W Woodland Ave, Peru.

The bus was stuck.

A car vs. deer crash was reported at 62 S Broadway, Love Your Hair, Peru.

Officers responded to the area of 444 S Center St, Roosevelt Mobile Home Park, Lot 12, Bunker Hill, for a physical altercation.

Officers performed a vehicle unlock at 2831 S Hilltop Dr, Peru. This was due to officers discovering an infant locked up in the vehicle.

Officers responded to 13128 N 300 W, Macy for a possible violation of a no contact order. Record at this time for possible harassment if it continues.

A car vs. deer crash was reported at W 450 N and N U.S. 31, Peru.

No injuries were reported. A state crash report was submitted.

October 16 A domestic disturbance was reported at 1623 E St. Road 218, Peru.

A stolen vehicle was reported at 2661 S Bus. 31, Knights Inn, Peru.

A domestic disturbance was reported at 2874 W 500 S, Peru.

Suspicious damage to a vehicle was reported at 44 McKinstry Ave, Peru.

Kali Baker battered Cynthia Chapman at 5851 S U.S. 31, Cedar Creek Mobile Home Park, Lot 1A, Peru.

Baker was arrested on the site.

Officers took a report of stolen property at 314 E Washington St, Apt. 29, Bunker Hill. This is an ongoing investigation.

An individual at 2397 E 400 S, Peru had questions regarding a battery that occurred within the last week.

Caller was not in the area at the time.

Foggy morning

Caller stated they would provide a statement at a later date when they were available in the area.

Officers reported to the area of S Deer Park Dr. and W Woodland Ave, Peru for a missing two-year-old.

She was located upon arrival.

A suspicious person or vehicle was reported at 1104 W 200 N, Miami County Jail, Peru.

Possible burglary from a vehicle was reported at 3329 N Lincoln St, Peru. was taken from the vehicle. Unable to locate.

October 17 A domestic disturbance was reported at 39032 Edwards CT, Peru.

A traffic accident with damage was reported at N 100 W & W 400 N, Peru.

A traffic accident with damage was reported at 5669 E St. Rd. 18, Converse.

A caller at 2166 W St. Rd. 18, Kokomo requested assistance retrieving his father's property. Father was not on scene and the wife was not answering the door. Contact was made with the resident, and she was in communication with the son to make arrangements for retrieval of the property.

Allen Eugene Rasmussen, 56

Edward M. Orpurt, 101, of Peru passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Peru, Indiana.

He was born on March 27, 1920, in Peru, Indiana, to William Clarence and Glee (Nicodemous) Orpurt. He married Ella Louise (Richeson) Orpurt Nov. 1, 1946, and she survives. Edward was retired from United Technologies as a parts inspector. He was a lifetime member of the Peru Church of the Brethren where he served in many different capacities throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Orpurt and their children Ella Marie Orpurt of San Antonio, Texas, Kenneth Edward (Katharine) Orpurt of Peru, Indiana, Roger Allen Orpurt of Macy, Indiana, Annis (Jerry) DeKeyser of Rochester, Indiana, and Albert Glen (Sharlene) Orpurt of Peru, Indiana in addition to nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Dr. Phil Orpurt of North Manchester, Indiana.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents and brothers William Orpurt and Kenneth Orpurt.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. The funeral service followed at 11 a.m. with pastor Phillip Troxell officiating.

Burial took place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Peru Church of the Brethren.

Jeffrey L. Rader, 67, of Peru, passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2021.

He was born Dec. 22, 1953, in Logansport to Jack and Donna Rader. He married Brenda Willis on Aug 10, 1974, in Peru. She survives, along with their two children, Shannon Rogers (Billy), and Chad Rader, all of Peru. He had three grandchildren: Garrett, Abby, and Madelyn Rogers.

Jeff is also survived by three siblings: Jerry Rader (Dori) of Norman Oklahoma, Jackie Cramer (Gordon) of Lebanon, Indiana, and Joe Rader (Tena) of Peru, Indiana. He had many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janet Rader.

Jeff loved fishing and hunting from a young age. He has always lived along the Wabash River. He especially enjoyed many trips to Lake Erie to fish with friends. He enjoyed playing his guitar. Jeff was a very hard worker. He worked hard and played hard. He was a very talented welder. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 440 out of Indianapolis. He was also a member of the Literary Aid Society.

Jeff dearly loved his family. He will be missed greatly by his family and his friends. He cherished those relationships.

Friends called Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, from 10a.m. to Noon at the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel in Peru. The funeral service followed at Noon.

Diana Kay Molden, 77, Peru, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, at her residence.

Born Dec. 30, 1943, in Peru Indiana, she was the daughter of Dr. Emerson G. Caley and Thelma J. Caley.

Diana graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1961. She attended Wright’s Cosmetology School in Logansport, Indiana. After obtaining her cosmetology license, she opened “Diana’s Golden Curl Hair Salon.”

She worked as a beautician for many years, then moved on to American Stationary where she later retired.

Diana loved the holidays and decorating for them. In her younger years she would host gatherings for family and friends. Christmas was her favorite because she got to be with family who meant the world to her including her grand dog, Felix.

Diana is survived by her daughter Kristina (Bruce) Willis of Peru, her son Mark Molden of Rochester, her grandson Seth Reyes of Warsaw, her granddaughter Kaleigh Reyes of Toronto, Canada, and her grandson Braxton (Kay) Molden of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Caley.

Friends and family may call from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Flowers Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third Street, Peru, Indiana. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Allen Eugene Rasmussen, 56, formerly of Peru, passed away at his residence in Wabash, Indiana, Oct. 24, 2021.

He was born Oct. 22, 1965, to Eugene and Marceline (Shoemaker) Rasmussen. In his younger days, Allen loved to play softball and baseball. He always enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs play on TV. Allen has left behind his mother, Marceline Rasmussen, a brother, Gary (Alyona) Rasmussen, and three sisters, Tammy Bammerlin, Gina (Rick) Opelt, and Debbie Williams. Also surviving are nephews Sterling Rasmussen, Tony (Barbrae) Raver, Jeremiah Williams, and nieces Kristina Rasmussen, Tara Rasmussen, Ashley (Jeff) Closser, Jamie (Phil) Mathis, Keisha (Raymond) Mosley, Katie Bammerlin, Kylie Williams, and Harmoni Stone; in addition to eleven great nephews, seven great nieces, two great-great nephews, and two great-great nieces.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Rasmussen, his brother, Zane Rasmussen, and his dog, Misty Girl.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Burial took place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico, Indiana.

Robert E. Parker, 90 Robert E. Parker, 90, of Peru passed away at 8:28 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, at Dukes Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lewisburg, Ohio, Jan. 25, 1931, the son of Herbert and Lucille Bray Parker.

Robert married Elma Lorenz in Wabash, Indiana, May 6, 1950, and she survives.

A man of great faith and integrity Bob was a member of the Loree Church of the Brethren where he served as a Deacon. His greatest joys in life were his wife and his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was a retired farmer, carpenter/contractor and Maconaquah school bus-driver.

Surviving in addition to his wife Elma is a daughter Joleen Parker of Peru; sons James Parker of Amboy and William Parker of North Manchester; grandchildren Heather (Jeff) Stevens, Tiffany (Stu) Reed, Christopher Parker, Jeremy (Amber) Parker and Erin (Michael) Opp; ten great grandchildren and a stepbrother Leon Malott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Sylvia Parker, daughter Joyce Parker, brother Ed Parker, stepbrother Herbert Malott, stepsister Virginia VanDyke, daughter-in-law Carla Parker and grandson Ryan Parker.

A service celebrating the life of Robert E. Parker was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at the Loree Brethren Church, 8483 S. Strawtown Pike, Bunker Hill, Indiana, with Dr. Lloyd Lorenz officiating. Burial was in Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy, Indiana. Obituaries Donna Lee Anderson, 84

Linda L. Mills, 71

Donna Lee Anderson, 84, of Kokomo passed away at 6:44 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital-Kokomo.

She was born in Grant County Nov. 25, 1936, the daughter of Theodore and Marjorie Dicken Snyder. On Oct. 16, 1982, Donna married Robert Lee Anderson in Amboy and he preceded her Dec. 3, 2020.

Donna graduated from Marion High School and later from I.E. Institute in Akron, Ohio. After graduation she worked as an Industrial Engineer for Anaconda W&C dedicating 36 years.

Donna was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Eastern Woodland Carving Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Family and friends were a priority to her, and her family was her pride and joy.

Donna is survived by daughters Kathi J. (Ron) Montgomery of Van Buren, Indiana, and Teddi J. VanBlaracum of Fort Myers, Florida; her stepchildren Connie Freshwater of Maryville, Tennessee, Lisa R. Anderson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Lori R. (Billy) Wentz and step daughter-in-law Carole Anderson; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; and three step great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Robert, she was preceded by her parents, brothers Ted Snyder and Jean Crist and stepson James Anderson.

Family and friends gathered at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy, Indiana, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 29, 2021. A graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Linda L. Mills, 71, passed away peacefully in her home Friday, Oct. 29, 2021.

She was born Oct. 14, 1950, in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Leroy, Jr. and Margaret (Zartman) Mills.

Linda graduated from North Miami High School in 1969 and attended Indiana University in pursuit of becoming a nurse, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in 1973 and her Masters in 1986. She received her nursing license in 1973 and proudly served many people for over 30 years in her time at University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a longtime member of the American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nurses, serving as a reviewer of programs for continuing education.

In retirement, Linda enjoyed getting together with friends and family, traveling, helping plan high school and family reunions, baking, and tending to her beautiful flowers. She also spent time assisting on her neighborhood homeowners association.

One of Linda’s favorite activities was playing Sudoku. She also cherished baking Christmas cookies with her sister and niece each year, a way of remembering her mother.

Her niece and nephew fondly remember Friday Night Pizza with Aunt Linda while growing up and the humorous cards they would send each other in the mail.

Linda often traveled to the Mills Family Farm where she grew up. The farm had always been a peaceful place for Linda. It is where her love of pigs and cats started. She maintained a wide collection of pig figurines that decorated the mantle in her home.

Linda was a strong-willed, matter-offact woman with a soft heart and will be missed immensely by those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Margaret Mills and her brother, Curt Mills.

Her legacy will be cherished by her sister, Jan (Jim) Pike of Indianapolis; brother, Kent Mills of Denver; sister-inlaw, Barbara Mills of Macy; her nieces, Jessie Pike of Indianapolis and Myranda (Jimmie) Kruschinska of Portland, Oregon; and nephews, Adam Pike of Indianapolis and Nathan (Abigale) Vandermark of West Lafayette.

Visitation will be held at McClain Funeral Home in Denver, Indiana Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral will immediately follow visitation.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico. The family asks that all guests wear masks inside the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Greenlawn Cemetery or your local humane society.

Mobile Food Pantry coming to Peru Nov. 8

The Mobile Food Pantry will be at Parkview United Methodist Church, 1785 St. Rd. 19, Peru, Indiana, Monday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m.

This is a drivethru distribution and no one should arrive before 10:30 a.m.

October 24 A possible driving under the influence incident was reported at W Logansport Rd. and S 500 W, Peru.

A caller at 1056 N Lincoln St, Peru reported intimidation

by phone. A case report was completed.

A traffic complaint was taken at S 500 W and W Logansport Road, Peru. After investigation, Angela Breedlove, Kokomo, was arrested for charges of operating while intoxicated and driving while suspended prior.

Officers at 39031 Edwards CT, Peru spoke to the mother of a 19year-old male. The female complainant wanted to report theft of her son's medication. After speaking to the 19-year-old male, it was determined the medication was not stolen. He was requesting a standby from law enforcement to retrieve the medication. A short time later I received a second call from the mother. She was informed that any crim-

inal complaints must originate with the alleged victim of the crime, not the alleged victim's mother.

A 16-year-old driver reported that she was driving south at S U.S. 31 and W St. Rd. 18, Kokomo when her vehicle was struck from behind. All parties stopped and accessed

the damage but failed to share information.

The registered owner of the complainant's vehicle did not request a state accident report but wanted the accident documented in the event the second driver reports the accident. It is believed the second driver may have been under the
