HUBBA/LBSA/P4 Business Social was in the Multicultural Center on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Representatives from various firms including KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst and Young, Gap Inc., Macy’s, Google, Wells Fargo, Bridgespan Group, Hitachi Consulting, Target, Prudential, CBS Interactive, Abercrombie and Fitch, Altria, and T-Mobile were present. P4 Partners Attends PBL Interorg Social On October 27, 2010, Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) hosted an Interorganizational Social at Blake’s on Telegraph. Representatives from different organizations including PBL, Haas Undergraduate Black Business Association, Latino Business Student Association, Asian American Association, Alpha Kappa Psi, Berkeley Women in Business, International Association of Business Communicators, Delta Sigma Pi, Beta Alpha Psi, and P4 all attended the event.

To kick off the event, attendees were divided into groups and were each given a scenario. Each group had to work together to elaborately figure out what happened in each scenario. Afterwards, the members from each organization mingled and shared with one another what their organizations do and what each organization is about.

The social served as a great way for members from each organization to meet and network with one another and build stronger relations in a casual and enjoyable setting.

Alumni Spotlight Name: Jasper Truman Aguinaldo Cacananta

HUBBA/LBSA/P4 Business Social continued...

Served as: Founder (20002001), Executive Vice Director- Internal (2001-2002), Executive Director (20022003) Where is he now?

Jasper double majored in business administration at the Haas School of Business and in political science as an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley where he graduated in 2003. After graduating from Berkeley, he was selected as a Judicial Fellow to work at the Judicial Council of California in San Francisco where he researched and gained a working knowledge of the various administrative challenges and policy issues faced by the state court system. At the end of his fellowship, Jasper was selected as an Academy Fellow at the Greenlining Institute to work on public policy and advocacy matters relating to banking, community reinvestment, and telecommunications. After two years serving in these public interest roles, Jasper switched gears and worked in the private sector—first as a lead research analyst at a reputable corporate governance advisory firm then as a project analyst at the Walt Disney Company. With four years of substantive work experience under his belt, Jasper moved to the East Coast in Philadelphia and earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he served as Executive Editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law and as student body president. He currently works as a transactional attorney at a large law firm in New York City. He works in his Firm’s Corporate Group practicing in general corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, private equity/venture capital, securities, finance, cross-border transactions, tax, and intellectual property. In his free time, Jasper enjoys rooting for his hometown Los Angeles Lakers and playing the ukulele (although not well). He served as an active member of P4 throughout his years at Cal and hopes to attend P4’s 10th Anniversary celebration.

The Haas Undergraduate Black Business Association (HUBBA), the Latino Business Student Association (LBSA) and the Partnership for Pre-Professional Pilipinos (P4) held a Business Social in the Multicultural Center on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Representatives from various firms including KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst and Young, Gap Inc., Macy’s, Google, Wells Fargo, Bridgespan Group, Hitachi Consulting, Target, Prudential, CBS Interactive, Abercrombie and Fitch, Altria, and T-Mobile were present and helped make this event a major success.

The event served as a great networking opportunity for many of the members of the organizations and students. In order to exercise teamwork and inno-

vation, all participants played a game called Tycoon Wars. Students along with representatives from different firms and organizations broke into groups and created a prototype out of a limited selection of materials. Afterwards, each group divided themselves into buyers and sellers, allowing participants to peruse other prototypes and market their own product. A common theme within the prototypes were ecofriendly, student-oriented products.

The time and dedication HUBBA, LBSA, and P4 put forth for the event led to the production of a rewarding and fun evening.

Dear Friends and Family of P4,

It is a real honor for me to be writing this letter on behalf of the 2010-2011 P4 partners. The partners are enthusiastic about this year's programming, especially because it is P4's tenth year of existence! We hope we can continue the legacy of P4 that you have all contributed to by dedicating our time to the development and advancement of our members into the professional world. With that said, one of our goals is to foster a stronger relationship with our alumni. But we can't execute this without you! We ask that you: 1) Update your contact information regularly. We recognize that this may be a busy time in your life and that it is possible that you may move several times during the next few years. However, we can't keep you in the loop if we don't know where you are. You'll miss out on our monthly newsletters, invitations to P4 events, and the Tenth-Year Anniversary celebration. So please be sure to let us know whenever your contact information changes (i.e. your mailing address, e-mail address, or telephone number). Updating your contact information is easy --simply send your updated information to p4marketing.pr@gmail.com.

2) Stay involved. Feel free to attend any of our events including associate meetings, general meetings, shadow days, coffee chats, banquets, etc. These events are regularly advertised on our website (calP4.wordpress.com).

3) Let us know what you are up to. P4 alumni across the country are doing amazing things. Whatever life path you choose, we'd love to hear about it. :) 4) Help us contact other alumni. Our alumni database is always a work in progress and we would hate to miss an alumnus. If you know any P4 alumni contact information, feel free to pass the information along.

As a P4 alum, you are now a part of a very special community. Please know that P4 is here to help you and support you in whatever ways we can. As the Co-Director of Public Relations, I am your point person for alumni related issues. If you need to update your mailing address, have questions about upcoming events, are interested in helping with associate developments, or are trying to track down a lost classmate, I can help you out. Whatever your question, I will do my best to answer it.
