GENERAL INFORMATION

ORDER CONFIRMATION

Upon receipt of your order and deposit an order confirmation will be electronically sent via e-mail. For standard lead time orders, please advise within 3 business days of any discrepancies. For lead times under 4 weeks please advise within 24 hours of any discrepancies. Your order confirmation should contain all the “build” information for your custom umbrella or pavilion. Please read each detail carefully; our craftsmen and women will be creating your order as detailed. Your order confirmation will state the estimated completion week. Once all finishes and fabrics are specified and an order is slated for production, the order is locked after 36 hours.

PAYMENTS

We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, bank wires and checks. All orders require a 50% deposit. Balances are due prior to shipping.

SHIPPING

We pack our products in heavy-duty corrugated cartons. At our discretion we may palletize shipments when necessary. Shipping in the contiguous United States is via Motor Freight (LTL). We ship umbrellas fully assembled. All shipments are considered curbside or to a dock. For an additional fee, residential White Glove delivery may be added to your shipping charges. The White Glove service will deliver, unpack and set up your order. We will require a daytime telephone number so the carrier can contact you.

We will charge a re-consignment fee if you change your ship to information once the shipment leaves our dock.

FREIGHT CLAIMS

An inspection of your shipment is required immediately upon arrival. Please make note of any damage to cartons PRIOR to signing the delivery receipt. Please take photos of any damage to cartons. Our cartons are designed for rough handling and carton damage does not always indicate concealed damage. If you unpack the product and find it is damaged in any way please stop and immediately call 800-919-9464 or e-mail photos to sales@santabarbaradesigns.com . You must report losses or damage as soon as possible, and no later than 48 hours after taking delivery. Please save any damaged cartons until we settle the claim, or we will not be able to make a freight claim to the carrier

RETURNS/EXCHANGES

Our entire product line is handcrafted to order. We do not accept returns or exchanges.

UMBRELLA SIZING

Please consider your sizing options carefully. In cases where sizing errors occur we cannot be responsible and the product is not returnable for an alternate size. Our sales staff can assist you with sizing questions.

IN-TABLE / IN-POOL / IN-DECK INSTALLATIONS

If your umbrella is going into a table, pool shelf, or deck we will need to know the inside diameter of the tube. For InPool and In-Deck we additionally will need to know the depth of the tube. Please discuss any of the above with your salesperson to determine if our product is the correct fit. Storage covers are fabricated assuming a free -standing umbrella. Adjustments are made for In-Table installations; please advise us accordingly.

LEAD TIME

We strive to produce most orders within the lead time quoted by your salesperson. During the busiest times of the year the lead times may increase; we will advise you of the lead time when you place your order and deposit. Orders with no deposit are placed in a queue with no order completion date. Once your deposit is received we will assign the lead time. Please note that lead times for COM orders will commence when the fabric has been received in our facility.

COM

Santa Barbara Designs uses 100% solution-dyed acrylic awning weight fabrics for our shade products. Awning fabric assures a taught and well fitted canopy that will outperform upholstery fabric. COM (customers own material) is acceptable but we cannot be responsible for any issues that arise as a result of the COM fabric. The best solution for the use of upholstery fabrics is for banding applique or linings; whereever possible, the main canopy should be specified in awning fabric.

RESIDENTIAL WARRANTY

Santa Barbara Umbrella warranties are valid from the date of purchase to the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase (original sales receipt including purchase date) is required. Photos of inspection may also be required.

Please note: wind and inclement weather damage is never covered under any manufacturer’s warranty. Our staff is highly trained in spotting manufacturing defects vs. wind and/or misuse and will be the final arbitrator in determining the cause of damage. Our products are built with great pride, using the best methods available in construction and materials.

Santa Barbara Umbrella, Riviera Umbrella, Cirque Umbrella, Mission Terrace Umbrella

Wood frames including center pole, hubs, finials and open/Close system, and stainless steel/brass hardware, are warranted for 3 years against manufacturing defects.

Paseo Aluminum Umbrella, Paseo XL Aluminum Umbrella, Mirasol Umbrella, Flamenco Umbrella

Aluminum frames, including center pole, hubs, finials and open/close system, are warranted for 3 years against manufacturing defects.

All aluminum parts undergo a Chem Film treatment before powder coating. The Chem Film treatment helps to retard corrosion and allows for better adherence of the final baked finish. Please be advised that rough treatment of the umbrella may cause markings in the powder coat finish. This is wear and tear and is not covered under the warranty. Using the product in a gentle manner will assure years of trouble-free use.

Paseo Stainless Steel Umbrella

Stainless steel frames, including center pole, hubs, finials and open/close system, are warranted for 3 years against manufacturing defects.

Stainless steel frames and finials will exhibit brown “tea stains” when exposed to salt air. If used in salt conditions the stainless steel will require routine maintenance. The finish is not warranted in locations within 3 miles of salt water.

Bases

All bases are warranted against manufacturing defects for a period of 1 year.

When used near salt water we recommend our aluminum shell base or the aluminum wrap version of the low-profile base.

Awning Fabric

8-year limited warranty for all awning grade fabric. The warranty protects against the fabric becoming unserviceable as a result of color or strength loss from normal usage and exposure conditions, including sunlight.

The fabric warranty does not cover normal care and cleaning nor does it cover improper maintenance.

Labor charges are not covered under the fabric warranty; valid warranty claims against fabric will simply replace the yardage amount required to fabricate a new canopy. Fabrication of the canopy is excluded and will result in labor charges.
