It’s such an exciting time for the VIVALDI Social Care team as we have so many wonderful care providers join the programme.
This month we’ve had visits, and meetings and really engaged with residents and that is so wonderful for us. The people who live in care homes are helping shape the future of infection prevention in care homes and there’s something really special about that.

JOIN THE ADULT SOCIAL CARE ENGAGEMENT COLLECTIVE
Coproduction and stakeholder engagement has highlighted that it is essential for the care sector to maintain control over how data can be used and what we must prioritise.
The Adult Social Care Engagement Collective seeks to include a broad spectrum of stakeholders from across the social care sector (including users, providers and commissioners)

to ensure that research is driven by the sector, for the sector.

We’re delighted to bring you our second VIVALDI Social Care Provider Spotlight.

This month we spoke to Lianne Ford, Head of Nursing at Exemplar Health Care Services Ltd. Lianne spoke of Exemplar’s reason for joining the project:
“We are thrilled at Exemplar Health Care to be participating as a provider in the Vivaldi Care Home Study! This is a huge move for the social care sector and for us as a provider and what the future may hold following the first stage of this study. Staff across our services are busy having conversations with the people we support, families and external professionals about our participation and how this will impact our processes, experiences of people who live, work and visit here and care delivery in the future. With current pressures faced by the NHS the last place we want the people we support to be is in hospital. We always strive to do all we can to keep people at home – being supported by teams who know them well.”
The VIVALDI Social Care Team is excited to announce the launch of data collection for its groundbreaking pilot has begun. This innovative project, spearheaded by University College London (UCL), Care England, and The Outstanding Society, has been co-produced with input from residents, relatives, providers, and partners across health and social care.
During a recent visit to Westcombe Park BUPA Care Home, Lucy Knight – VIVALDI Social Care Co-ordinator, spoke to Chris Powling about the project and asked him for his thoughts. Chris said,
“I can truthfully say I’ve been bowled over by this morning. The meeting was beyond anything I could have wished for a place that I’m very fond of. It was full of positive people with positive feelings about the VIVALDI project. The team were very clear about what it was, very reassuring and I’ve come away thinking that this is a hugely important project. So much so that I’m actually frightened that it’s not been done before!”
