moment. We are collectively preparing to bid adieu to another year that brought its own set of triumphs, struggles, and learnings. At The Olori Network, we wanted to take a moment to share our reflections with you.

In a season when it’s easy to become consumed by the every day demands that require more of our time, capacity, and energy, we wanted to share with you a few practices that our team embraces to ensure we remain grounded in the truths and values that we lead with.

May you find a thought, resource, or practice in the following pages — passed on from family, friends, colleagues, and clients through the years — that prompts you to think differently, allows you to give yourself some much needed grace, and helps you prepare to enter 2024 with renewed vigor.

WAYS TO RESTORE 2

GIFT YOURSELF Identify at least one thing that’s just for you — not for your family, not your friends, not your children — just for YOU. Find that one thing that brings you joy and make it happen.

BE OF SERVICE TO OTHERS Gather with family or friends to do an activity or deed that is in service of others. When you give to those in need, you’re automatically reminded of how blessed you are yourself.

GIVE YOURSELF A PERMISSION SLIP Write yourself a (literal!) permission slip to do nothing. Use this as an opportunity to give yourself grace, space, and permission to do the thing(s) you may feel are too indulgent to partake in when there are other things you ‘need’ to do or feel you ‘should’ be doing.

BECOME ONE WITH NATURE Get outside to intentionally connect with the natural world. Remind yourself how small you are in relation to the vastness of nature and let that bring you peace. We are all one.

WAYS TO REFLECT 4

BE STILL Release the guilt if you don’t have a specific purpose behind everything you do or if you haven’t crossed off ‘enough’ to dos.

ACTIVELY EXPRESS GRATITUDE Write a note of gratitude to someone. You may want to use this opportunity to share with someone all of the wonderful things you think about them but don’t often pause long enough to actually tell them.

MAKE YOURSELF A PRIORITY — EVEN IF IT’S HARD Write down 1-3 things you love to do for yourself and then make a commitment to do them and prioritize them during your time off.

CREATE A LOVE LIST Rather than creating another ‘to do’ list instead, create a ‘to love’ list. In this practice, you list all of the things you WANT to do and then commit to doing at least one of them each quarter and crossing it off your list.

WAYS TO PREPARE FOR 2024

DREAM BIGGER THAN YOU‘RE USED TO Set a (bold and unapologetic) vision for 2024. Use the time to reflect on questions that will allow you to get clear on your goals. Set goals for wellness, self, family, friends, career, finances, etc. Lean into calm and clarity for the new year.

JAZZ IT UP! So much of our productivity is dictated by the space around us. Take this opportunity to give yourself a change of scenery and change up your work space. Whether you set a budget or do it for $0, simply changing the orientation of your work space will help energize you and increase your productivity.

LEAVE BEHIND WHAT NO LONGER SERVES YOU Sometimes you don’t feel the weight of something you’ve been carrying until you feel the weight of its release. Commit to letting go of guilt, regret and disappointments and start the new year on a fresh slate.
