They had read one too many Mother Jones magazines. So in 1975, they moved us to Mora,

The Old Times

Some days disaster is just a hare away Dealer’s Choice

by Joan Sween I was happily cruising down the aisles of the big antique show, with The Man I Married close behind, when we reached one of those booths that had vintage jewelry laid out in abundant piles all over five tables. “Oh, boy, you’re going to be stuck here forever,” said TMIM, knowing my penchant for looking at every single piece of jewelry on display. “I’m going to go on ahead of you, but I’ll be back.” He ambled on. I balanced my fingers lightly on the jewelry display tables and began browsing. I was wearing a full-sleeved fuzzy sweater, and when I straightened up to move to a new pile of goodies, a plethora of jewelry clung to my sleeves. Surprised, I stood up suddenly and discovered that another mother lode of jewels was attached to the front of my sweater, about where my figure

By Joan Sween was prominent. I started to gently pick them off, but with every move a dozen or so fell off and bounced under the table. Good grief. I got down on my hands and knees, crawled mostly under the table and started picking up pieces of jewelry. After a few minutes I heard some young female voices in the aisle right behind me. “So, are those Yoga pants?” I heard one ask. “I hope not,” said the second voice, “because she shouldn’t be wearing them.
